VEKA Gives Back: Hurricane Helene Relief Effort At VEKA, we believe in the power of community and giving back. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, we're proud to announce that, in addition to the two truckloads of relief supplies already sent to support our VEKA East plant coworkers and their families, we were able to ship 16 Gaylord boxes and pallets full of essential supplies. From food, water, pet food, and clothing, to generators, tools, chainsaws, sleeping bags, camping stoves, and much more, our employees and partners came together to help in a time of need. This incredible effort was part of our annual VEKA Gives Back charity drive, where our employees donate to support local causes. ??We extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed, including Cintas – for donating gloves and cleaning supplies, Zelienople’s T & M HARDWARE RENTAL, Seubert & Associates, Inc., Sunset Transportation – for providing the truck and covering freight expenses, The Borough of Ellwood City (special thanks to Rhiannon Schnell!), Ellwood City Forge Group, Honeywell, FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP BEAVER COUNTY and the amazing residents of Franklin Township, Ellwood City and surrounding areas. Together, with the unwavering support of all our contributing VEKA employees and volunteers, we continue to show that We Care, We Act, We Grow. Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive. Thank you all for making a difference!?#VEKAGivesBack #CommunitySupport #HurricaneHelene #WeCareWeActWeGrow #Charity #Teamwork #StrongerTogether #VEKA #vekavalues?

Donation suggestions for Hurricane Helene: if you are donating from afar, if you could have items sorted by product in cartons, by pallets or by truckload, it would help with distribution. Mixed boxes and pallets require a lot of hand labor to sort. Our region is certainly grateful for all the outpouring, so I know you want to help our community. Pre-sorting and organizing before it is sent would be a HUGE help!! Thank you!! For instance…carton of toothpaste, carton of deodorant (male carton, female carton) pallet of paper towels, any sorting/labeling done in advance will speed up the relief. Also, a manifest would be helpful for receiving warehouses. They could more-quickly assess the donations and get them allocated and distributed. None of the receiving warehouses are computerized. They are being operated by pen, paper and verbal communications. They are handling 100s-of-thousands of square feet of product with no inventory systems and limited material handling specialists. Any of my warehousing friends and family can appreciate what this might be like. Why FEMA is not communicating this to the general donating public is beyond my ability to understand??? This should be part of there SOPs.

While the damage of Hurricane Helen is still being assessed, we as Carolina Community from our SERVPRO Team Starritt want to share ways you can help from areas far and wide. 1- Donate to Non-Profit Organizations // Organizations such as the AARP Foundation are gathering funds to ensure that all of the profits go to the relief and support of those impacted by hurricane damage. 2-Volunteer your Time //? If you live within an area where you can ideally travel to damaged sites, register under a disaster relief organization to give your time to efforts needing assistance such as tree removal, donated goods organizations, debris cleanup, etc.? You can sign up at redcross.org, justserve.com, and at nc.gov/volunteernc. Important to note: Do not just show up to the communities impacted without registering through an organization. They are limited to resources and it takes careful planning and consideration to direct the efforts of volunteers effectively. 3 - Send Resources // Even with the very generous efforts of our amazing Carolina communities, the need for resources is still ongoing and has been deemed very limited. Through the same and similar organizations listed above, find items that are needed and register to drop them off at an organization's pick-up zone. 4 - Stay up-to-date // While you may not be experiencing any damage or effects from the storm, it does not mean that the issues and needs of those who were are immediately cared for. Do your best to stay informed and up-to-date with the needs of the communities and areas impacted. Doing so will help them stay updated with the resources they need to recover. Let’s take this time to unite together as a Carolina community ?? #carolinastrong #hurricanehelene #disasterrelief #redcross #volunteer #communityservice #donate

Our hearts go out to all those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. We deeply appreciate those working tirelessly to provide relief and support throughout the region—including first responders, volunteers, and relief organizations. To all who have suffered loss, and to all who are on the front lines providing help to those who need it: we stand with you. At Pride Resource Partners, we believe in teamwork, partnership, and giving back to the community. Whether it’s offering a helping hand or simply sharing a kind word, we understand the importance of standing together to provide support, which is especially valuable in the aftermath of natural disasters of such magnitude. While some may feel inclined to send food or supplies, many relief organizations have made it clear that cash donations are the most effective way to help. Cash allows organizations to acquire exactly what is needed, in the right quantities, at the right time, and without the logistical challenges that physical donations may pose. We invite you to join Pride in supporting the relief efforts by donating to one of the many relief organizations who are working tirelessly to provide much-needed food, clean water, essential supplies, and aid in the affected areas. Pride Resource Partners will be donating to Second Harvest Food Bank in North Carolina. For a list of highly rated charities that are actively engaged in hurricane recovery efforts, visit Charity Navigator to find an organization that inspires your support. Let’s Support Those Impacted by the Hurricane: Donate Your Hotel Points Thanks to a post I saw on Instagram from Katherine Miller, I wanted to share this thought. I have been trying to think of how I can offer support to those impacted by Helene and those that will be impacted all over again by Milton. So many families have lost everything, and while we all want to help, it can be hard to know where to start. Thanks to Katherine, this is something that many of us #roadwarrios can do and it is a simple way to make an impact by donating your unused hotel points to support relief efforts. Many hotel chains allow you to donate points directly to organizations like American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon—all working tirelessly to provide shelter, food, and comfort to those who’ve been affected. Here’s how you can help: Check with your hotel’s rewards program to see if they have a donation option for disaster relief. Choose a trusted organization that’s on the front lines helping families rebuild. Make your donation—even a small amount can provide temporary housing for those who’ve lost their homes. In times like these, every bit of support makes a difference. If you have hotel points sitting around, this is a great way to put them to good use and help those who need it most. I know we all want to help in any way we can. Whether it’s donating points, sharing resources, or simply spreading the word, together we can make a real impact. Groups like Marriott Hotels and Hilton Hotels & Resorts allow you to donate your points to the charity of your choice or disaster relief. Let’s step up and support the people and communities who need us right now. ?? #HurricaneRelief #DonateHotelPoints #CommunitySupport

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, we are standing by our company Purpose of keeping pets happy, healthy, and safe. ? ? ? ? Today I went on Good Morning America to help shine a light on the need for any and all supplies for humans and the countless pets who are lost, injured, displaced or now crowded in overwhelmed shelters. PetSafe Brands will help our neighbors and friends across the South East in three meaningful ways: 1) we are donating up to $1 million worth of products, including 50,000 bags of our PetSafe Premium Natural Cat Litter—one of the most sought-after items by local shelters. 2) We have pledged $30,000 to the American Red Cross to support their relief efforts.? ? ?? 3) we are encouraging our teammates to donate what they can - time, money, supplies - to help our local communities. This work began in earnest last week with a company wide day of service. ? Please watch the 3min clip below and consider helping however you can—whether by donating supplies or considering becoming a foster family for displaced pets. Shelters are in urgent need of assistance, and together, we can make a meaningful impact. ? ? ? ? #HurricaneRelief #PetSafeCares #HelpingPets #HeleneRelief #petsafebrands #helene #petsafe #kurgo #SportDog #InvisibleFenceBrand #PremierPet

We know so many were affected by the recent Hurricane Beryl, and all of us at KTB are thinking of everyone during this difficult time of clean-up and rebuilding. If there is one thing we know about our community and Texans in general, it is that so many of us are ready to give back when duty calls. We have pulled together a list of organizations providing assistance to the areas affected by the storm. Thanks to The Texas Tribune for these suggestions: The Houston Food Bank has a disaster relief fund accepting monetary donations for food, water and other necessary supplies. Once disaster needs are met, any remaining funds will help provide food for people facing hunger across southeast Texas: https://lnkd.in/gT8JKthC The American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast has asked for volunteers to assist in Beryl aid operations. You can find more information and sign up to volunteer with the Red Cross here: https://rdcrss.org/3xQVuhe The nonprofit World Central Kitchen is providing and rescue teams, meals and water for Texans in the coastal city of Sargent. You can donate to them here: https://wck.org. Do you know of other groups helping the Gulf Coast and affected regions? Please share them in the comments below. As always, if you are unfamiliar with a specific charity, you can research it using charity watchdog sites like Charity Navigator and Guide Star.?

?? Please DO NOT bring clothes to Western NC! ?? (Please share this) The generosity after Hurricane Helene has been incredible, and it’s truly heartwarming. But right now, money is what is most needed. If you’re looking to help, please consider donating to an organization you trust. And please tell your friends and family—I rarely ask for shares, but this time, please help us spread the word to stop bringing clothes unless you know of a specific need. Yesterday, I spent the day redirecting clothing donations coming in from outside the disaster area. Starting before 8 am this morning, my phone was buzzing with people asking, “Where can we bring these clothes?” Almost all of this is coming from generous folks from out of state. A small amount of warm clothing was needed, but an avalanche of donations arrived. We don’t have enough volunteers to sort, launder, or store it all, and the real issue is that the people who need help most have lost everything, including a place to store clothing. ?? There will be a time when clothes will be needed, so please hold on to new and gently used items for later. If you’re coming to volunteer from out of state, consider bringing items that are urgently needed now, like: -Mr. Buddy heaters -Propane -Chainsaws and tools Thank you for your generosity and understanding. Your help in sharing this message is so appreciated as we work to get the right resources to those in need right now. This video is one of dozens from the area to help with some perspective on this: https://lnkd.in/eGgxMcXc
