From Hollywood to NOSH: Jennifer Garner Set the Bar High Let's be honest here. When @Jennifer Garner walked onto the stage to kick off Nosh.com, a was in awe. I’m already a big fan of her work (who isn’t?), but after seeing her share the stage with John Foraker of Once Upon a Farm, I’m an even bigger fan. Jennifer's commitment to their mission of making better nutrition accessible for kids—and her drive to elevate her business acumen while balancing the demands of being a Hollywood A-lister—was nothing short of inspiring. She’s proof you can be a superstar on and off the screen. With that, here are my three biggest takeaways from this incredible NOSH conference: 1. It Takes a Village Jeff Klineman, Editor-in-Chief at BevNET.com, shared with me just how much teamwork goes into making NOSH the event we all love. The unseen effort—from preparing speakers to ensuring every detail lands—reminded me that behind every great outcome is a great team. 2. Rising Tides Float All Boats At a dinner hosted by VMG Partners, ForceBrands, and Redbud Brands, I saw what true collaboration looks like. It wasn’t just networking; it was an investment in bringing people together, even competitors. ?? to Brian Goldberg, Sean Conner, and Wayne Wu One unexpected highlight for me that evening? Wayne introducing me to my “worthy rival,” Mike Keech of Liquid I.V. IV, from my Nuun Hydration days. Turns out, we’re more alike than I thought. 3. Plant Roots Before Scaling The best advice from the conference: FOCUS on being distinct and relevant to a core audience before trying to scale. It’s tempting to go big too soon, but success comes from proving yourself first. ==> Precision and patience win every time. This industry inspires me more every day. A BIG thank YOU to John Craven, Jeff Klineman, and the entire BevNET Team for putting on a show that makes us better leaders and entrepreneurs. Let’s keep growing, together! #NOSH #cultureFIRSTleadership #Gratitude

DO TO THE KITCHEN WHAT UBER DID TO THE CAR LinkedIn members familiar with my posts and articles know that I believe the grocery and food industries are ready for severe disruption. In 2013, I wrote articles, LinkedIn posts, and I spoke on podcasts about what I consider to be the Holy Grail of disruption - leverage infrastructure and robotics to reduce the cost of food production and delivery cheaper than the price of going to a grocery store to buy groceries and cook the food at home. In the video I have attached, Travis Kalanick, co-founder of Uber, and one of the most brilliant and influential entrepreneurs in history, outlines his vision for his company, CloudKitchens. According to Travis, this is the opportunity: “Can you get the preparation and delivery of food so high-quality and cost-efficient, that it starts to approach the cost of you going to the grocery store. If that happens, you do to the kitchen what Uber did to the car.” I believe the answer is yes. I agree 100% with Kalanick as I designed nearly the exact same model. However, I desgined the model for Amazon to leverage, and Travis launched CloudKitchens. Amazon is a customer of CloudKitchens, and the relationship is growing. Travis believes that his strength is “digitizing the physical world.” This means manufacturing, logistics and real estate. CloudKitchens has a software division and a robotics division. (A video is played in the podcast that shows the ecosystem CloudKitchens has created via their software and robotics). I believe we are about to witness how powerful CloudKitchens ecosystem is due to their partnership with Starbucks and their new CEO Brian Niccol. Niccol wants to resore the vibe of Starbucks being the “third place.” CloudKitchens can make it a reality. I strongly encourage Niccol to THINK BIG and push the frontier of what’s possible using robotics and automation inside CloudKitchens facilities strategically located in the majority of cities. CloudKitchens facilities can be leveraged for drinks and food preparation. Completed orders can be delivered in minutes to nearby actual Starbucks. Expanding the partnership with CloudKitchens is arguably the most strategic move Niccol can make. Travis and CloudKitchens are creating a new model for how Americans THINK about eating, and they’re also providing the infrastructure and ecosystem to introduce new options for food. The food and grocery industries are a $2T business. Little has changed in the industries over the last 100 years. The potential impact of CloudKitchens is nearly limitless. We are witnessing the next Uber in CloudKitchens. I encourage everyone to watch the video. I wish Travis and the team from CloudKitchens the best. Note: I have tried to get Travis to agree to an interview but so far, I have been unable to convince Travis to do so. #retail #management #leadership #future Chamath Palihapitiya Jason Calacanis David O. Grocery and Food industry disruption! Brittain Ladd You certainly stimulate thought! This reminds me of Ryanair original business model - to make air travel cheaper than any other way of getting to a destination. Crazy at the time, yet Ryanair is still doing fine and largely created a model that met its vision. Perhaps CloudKitchens can be the Ryanair of food production and distribution. Will watch this space. #distruption #innovation #foodinnovation #cpg #foodservice

As we step into 2025, I want to wish all my family, friends, staff, connections, and customers a Happy New Year! 2024 has been nothing short of amazing for The Edinburgh Boiler Company. Mark Glasgow and I set bold goals to future proof our business and become leaders in the renewables sector. Through hard work and determination, backed by our incredible team, we not only achieved this but set the stage for much greater success. We also aimed high with a goal to win an H&V Award, putting ourselves up against the best in the UK. Walking away with the Contractor of the Year title wasn’t just a win, it was proof that big ambitions/goals accompanied by relentless effort can turn ambitions/goals into reality. As we move into 2025, our goals are even bigger, and here’s my message to to anyone in business, thinking of starting a business or even within your personal life: dream big, take action, and don’t settle for anything less than your best. Whatever you want to achieve this year, believe it’s possible. Write down your goals, create a plan, and go after them with everything you’ve got. When you win, the feeling is indescribable. And even if you stumble, the courage to start and try is worth more than doing nothing and standing still. Let 2025 be the year you go all in. Aim big, win big! Wishing you all happiness, and success in the year ahead.
Today, we spoke with Managing Director Dougie Bell about the recent H&V News Awards win. ??? Dougie shared insights into what this achievement means for the team and how it reflects their dedication to innovation and excellence in the industry. A huge thank you, again, to everyone who supported us along the way—this win belongs to all of us! ???? Stay tuned for more updates on what’s next for our award-winning team. ?? #HVAwards #TeamWork #Innovation #AwardWinning
