? The Practicalities of Queer Inclusion in Ads ? This week, our DE&I team hosted a fantastic panel event for LGBTQ+ History Month, led by Lucy Cooper, Creator at VCCP. We were joined by an incredible lineup of speakers: ? Zoe Bell, Creative Producer at Girl&Bear ? Sandy Downs, Head of DE&I and PR at Teamspirit ? Jennifer Cownie, Planning Director at VCCP Together, they shared valuable insights on how to create and action queer-friendly advertising, from brief to production to PR. Attendees left with practical takeaways to implement in their roles, helping drive meaningful change in the industry, like: - For true LGBTQ+ inclusion, it needs to start at the very beginning of the process, from the briefing and the research, not just added into production at the end. - The best queer-friendly advertising has an LGBTQ+ story or insight at the heart of it, and it isn’t just put in for the sake of statistics - Think about inclusion during all stages of production too - not only casting, but how you can foster an inclusive set through things like pronouns and gender-neutral toilets too A huge thank you to our panel for such an inspiring conversation!? #LGBTQinclusion #QueerAdvertising #DEI

5 天前Thanks VCCP ?? It was an excellent panel - huge thanks to Lucy, Zoe, and Jen for making it such fun. I think the most radical part was our agreement not to focus on the 'why should we bother' part of queer inclusion in comms - at VCCP, we take that as read! This was ALL about knowing we must do it, and working out how to do it well. This year more than ever, practical action is what allyship means ??
