“Accept challenges, so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory.” - George S. Patton
We’re given two things every day: our natural talent, and time. How we spend this talent, to what end and to what purpose, is ours to decide.
Many people don’t take their time and talent to try new things, take on new tasks, or accept new responsibilities because they view them as a challenge. We should remember that this view is merely our perception, and that our perception might not fully match reality. A key component of our perceptions about challenges is this: fear.
The next time that happens to you, ask yourself the following: is my perception based on reality or on fear?
And if there is a component of your perception that is fear, resolve to have the courage confront it. Conquer your fears. Think of fear as a compass that points towards growth. Identify what scares you and tackle it head on.
“God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right even though I think that it is hopeless.” – Chester W. Nimitz
