??? Inspiring Knowledge Exchange ??? In August, Hadithi Crafts hosted 20 amazing women from @Chui_Mamas_CBO, who traveled from Laikipia to visit us in Taita Taveta County. Facilitated by @Loisaba_Conservancy and @SanDiegoZoo, the visit included stops at our partners @WildlifeWorks and @elephantsandbees_ste. We shared insights from 10 years of empowering women artisans, showcasing how alternative livelihoods foster resilience in rural communities. This visit highlighted the power of women’s empowerment in achieving sustainable conservation goals. With 1,900 artisans across 64 groups, Hadithi Crafts is reducing unsustainable practices, enhancing economic stability, and strengthening community collaboration. Thank you to Chui Mamas, Loisaba Conservancy, San Diego Zoo, and @kirstieruppert for making this meaningful exchange possible! ????

?? Throwback to a Beautiful Day: Launching the Tree of Hope at Our School ?? Reflecting on one of the most fulfilling initiatives of my school years – the launch of the #Tree_Of_Hope project during my 9th grade. ?? It all started with a simple observation: our school campus lacked greenery. There were no plants, no trees, no signs of nature's beauty. We couldn't help but feel that something essential was missing. This realization sparked an idea that quickly grew into a passionate mission. With the support of our incredible teachers and the enthusiastic participation of my fellow students, we embarked on a journey to transform our campus. The Tree of Hope project aimed to plant trees and shrubs, creating a greener, more vibrant environment for everyone to enjoy. ?? The journey was filled with challenges, but the collective effort and dedication of our community made it all worthwhile. We organized fundraisers, collaborated with local nurseries, and spent countless hours digging, planting, and nurturing each tree. Each sapling planted was a step towards a greener future, a symbol of hope and growth. I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported this project. Our teachers played a crucial role, offering guidance and encouragement every step of the way. Their belief in our vision was a driving force that kept us going. Looking back, I realize that Tree of Hope was more than just a project; it was a movement. It taught us the power of community, the importance of environmental stewardship, and the impact that a small group of dedicated individuals can have. Today, as I walk through the now lush and green campus, I am filled with pride and joy. Each tree stands tall as a testament to what we achieved together. ?? Let’s continue to nurture our environment, inspire future generations, and remember that even the smallest actions can lead to significant change. #Climate_Change needs to be talked about more. There's no Planet B for now. ?????? #TreeOfHope #Sustainability #Community #GreenInitiatives #SchoolProjects #EnvironmentalAwareness #Leadership #Teamwork #Hope

If I were asked to name my deepest passions for the world in two phrases, here's what they would be today: 1. A sustainable planet 2. Equity for all Although this is an admittedly simplistic list, I have found this exercise tremendously valuable. It acts as a filter to keep me pointed in the right direction. Over the past several years, I have made concerted efforts to embed these values into my giving, my volunteering, my work and my life. Today, I'm excited to share the next stage in my personal journey to truly live those values in every sphere of my life! I am joining Engage Globally to support their organization as an Advisor Board member. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for me to truly leverage all of my experiences in non-profit development, communications and marketing, data analytics and storytelling, HR and environmental sustainability to support an organization doing amazing, life-changing work. If you haven't heard, Engage Globally supports?community-led sustainable development.?And that word "community-led" is a HUGE part of why I am hopping on board. Their?local partners?work with traditional leaders, women’s groups, parents, and program participants?to choose priorities, design projects, and implement programming.?Their team supports LOCAL leaders and community members in achieving their goals through capacity building, project consulting, funding, and other resources. What does this mean? No white savior complex. No useless projects created only to be wasted. Just meaningful, locally initiated and developed projects. If you're still reading, I'm excited to have piqued your interest. DM me or visit https://lnkd.in/esvybdFD to learn more. Thank you, friends and colleagues, for following along as I work to ensure my values are a highly integrated part of everything I do. Stay tuned for more ways to learn about and support this incredible organization.
