Here’s MORE proof that Google’s AI can identify what's in your Google Business Profile photos (and how to use this to your advantage) ?? I’ve previously talked about photos’ direct impact on GBP rankings, especially with the new “Discover through photos” carousel. Now, I’ve noticed another photo-related feature you need to know. In the Google Maps app, when you click on a Place Topic in the reviews section, Google sometimes shows photos related to that topic. ?? Look at the video example below: A lot of the reviews mention the word “dog” positively, so Google created a Place Topic for it. When you click on it, Google now shows a carousel of pictures with the dog in question above all the reviews ?? From what I’ve seen, these carousels can feature pictures uploaded by both customers and the business. This is clear proof that Google’s AI understands what’s in your GBP photos. It’s also a sign that Google wants you to upload more pictures to your Business Profile ?? ?? Photo carousels, like the one in the Reviews section, keep users on your Profile longer. And as we know, engagement signals are really important for Google rankings. ?? Photos also tend to convert a lot faster than the text-based elements on your Profile because they serve as social proof AND they show aspects of the business and/or its products more accurately. ?? Takeaway: You NEED to upload more pictures to your Google Business Profile. They can improve your rankings, drive more conversions AND showcase your cute dog. #localseo #seo

Great post on how AI is identifying what's in GBP photos. An aside, if you're a large company, with multiple locations, do NOT use the same general images for all of the locations.

Great insights here about the importance of adding photos to your Google Business Profile. I'd add another takeaway that if local traffic matters to your business you can't ignore your Google Business profile - post updates, get reviews, add photos regularly!

If you, like 96% of people with a smartphone, have been using Google recently, you've probably noticed their new Gen-AI search results. While I and many others are finding it incredibly useful to get info without so much as a click, I happen to know it's been terrifying SEO content specialists the industry-over because no one quite knows how to get featured on it yet. At MediaVision, however, we've managed to get a tonne of features for A LOT of clients by using Metis to be fast and first to search trends, effectively usurping the related AI-snippets before anyone else has discovered the trend exists. This has meant that we're landing our clients front and centre of this new feature, and, crucially, way ahead of their competitors who are struggling to be included at all. Now, with peak demand looming for many businesses, being included in these AI snippets is more important than ever. Why? Because it gives you the opportunity to own a prime piece of Google's real estate during the months where volume of searches are at their very greatest—above regular organic rankings, and above paid rankings. By being included in a Gen-AI search snippet, you're effectively guaranteeing that you'll be seen, and significantly increasing the likelihood that you'll attract clicks. Give me a shout if you've got questions or want to chat about how to cement your business as an early and key player in the future of search. #GenAI #DigitalMarketing #ContentMarketing #SEOContent #SEO

SEO used to be a black box for me. The SEO agencies I spoke to quoted anywhere from $3K to $7K... per month to optimize website SEO for organic search visibility for our target keywords. And these SEO "experts" would cop out by saying, you'll start seeing results 6-month from now. The only way for me to politely say "F**k off" to them was to figure SEO out the DIY way. Luckily, the SEO tooling landscape is evolving fast. When I stumbled upon Seona by StyleAI on the Shopify marketplace, it had bad reviews from store owners who most likely couldn't figure out the tool. I figured... it won't hurt to try something that is AI-first. My installation process had a bug. So I whipped up a Loom and asked Kyle Wonzen to fix it. He did! And the rest is history. I could rave about Seona all day long but I'll leave at this — I'm bout to install it in 4 more domains and every other brand I launch for the rest of my life. #seo

?? #LocalSEO #SEO Excellent advice from Darren Shaw about increasing your #Google Business Profile Rankings. NOTE: If you have not followed Darren yet, you should. He is very generous with this knowledge and is one of the best when it comes to understanding Local Search. I read his articles and LinkedIn psots regularly myself.
Here is proof that photos DIRECTLY impact your Google Business Profile rankings ?? Google Maps now lets users search visually through their new “Discover through photos” carousel that appears for some searches. Using machine learning and image recognition AI, Google analyzes billions of GBP photos to find matches for the search. For food and entertainment businesses, this feature seems incredibly valuable. It lets customers find you through photos of exactly what they’re craving. For example, a search for “best burgers NYC” pulls up restaurants, bars, and diners with burger photos uploaded to their Profiles ?? You can even expand your photo search by clicking on the “View photo map” or “View all” to see more places that have photos of your search term. So, how do you use this to rank higher? 1?? Think about all the things you typically sell at your business and the search terms you’d want your Profile to appear for. 2?? Add photos of all those things to your Google Business Profile. 3?? If people search for a specific term, and you have a photo of it on your Profile, your business will likely rank better for this search term. The interesting thing is that you could add pictures of literally anything to your Profile (it has to be an identifiable object) and your business might rank for it. Take a look at the example below. I searched for “snow shovel chicago” and got results for a bus stop, a park, and a fast food restaurant with photos of snow shovels in their Profiles. #localseo #seo
