I've Got Love on my Mind!!!

I've Got Love on my Mind!!!

Top of the weekend my friends! You know, GOD has such a wonderful sense of humor!

Not long ago, I crossed paths with a former ministry partner who served along side of me at Union Gospel homeless shelter and the Center of Hope. Wonderfully blessed women, in more ways than one. Sorry I digress.

Anyway, we probably hadn’t seen each other in about 10 years. It was great catching up. However I wasn’t ready for what transpired.

When someone says “I have a confession to make”. What's the first thing that comes to your mind? Generally it's not a penchant for quoting poetry.

“Really, what’s that?” I reply, now with undivided attention.

“Well I used to listen to you when I was in high school” she quips with undaunted vigor. Thanks for lending my your ears I reply.

Then with gingerly tempered humor. I continue “Girl please that had to be over 30 years ago. Are you trying to tell me I’m getting old?”

“No”! Then in this wonderful tone of affirmation! She adds “I wanted to have your children!!!” (Well I didn’t expect that)

“Wait a minute, aren’t you happily married with two wonderful kids.”

Yeah! And its all because of you. (Say what!!!!)

Now the plot thicken, You were playing the song “Always by Atlantic Star”. Okay?

After the song you said, “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. But ain’t nothing like loving and winning!”

My husband had just proposed and I was having some mild emotional jitters about saying “Yes”! When you said “But ain’t nothing like loving and winning!” It was like a word from GOD!

I realized I had a winner!! We’ve been married 30 years now. Wow!!

Now my confession, usually there’s generally a method to my madness. I don’t just want to entertain you. I also hope to inspire.

This morning I finally decided to look up. Who came up with the original quote. Only to discover another GOD moment, we think alike...you know!

This famous quote is from Alfred Lord Tennyson, "'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" is particularly relevant.

Tennyson knew that although romantic regret can be difficult to take, it serves a purpose, since it will shape the way you handle future relationships.

To quote the late and great Natalie Cole. "I've got love on my mind!! And if you are "Catching Hell"? Please don't give up on "LOVE" cause it won't give up on you. I'm not sure who I'm writing to right now but "He's Able" Donut ever forget it!!
