Over 2,500 students have used the Varsity Tutors resources. One of the most popular features, Soliven said, is the essay support option, which allows students to upload their essays and receive live support in improving their work. “I wish more students used it. I mean, it’s a great program. We pay a good chunk of money for it,” said Potomac School Board Member Justin Wilk. School Board Chair Dr. Babur Lateef echoed Wilk’s call for more students to use Varsity Tutors, adding that his own students have used it. “I credit them a lot with helping my children have good grades, stay up to date. And what I would encourage every student in the division, every parent in the division, is to try Varsity Tutors at home,” Lateef said. “I’m begging the parents, I’m begging the students, I’m begging the teachers, encourage your children to go out and use these resources.””
