The article by lawyers Daniela Bessone and Victor Guimar?es Taranto, published on JOTA last week, discusses PLP 252/2023, which introduces the Convertible Investment Contract in Equity (CICC) in Brazil. Inspired by the Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE), the CICC aims to simplify startup financing. This legislative change, if approved, will pave new ways for startup financing, creating a more favorable environment for investors.
