I was asked recently about authentic leadership. For me: it is many things, especially: ? ? Being genuine ? Unequivocal honesty ? (Often humbling) transparency ??? But most importantly, it starts by being true to yourself. ??? ? ? What does it look like in action? A recent example – a visual pepeha when meeting new people. ? ? Authentic leadership is more than words, and it starts within.

One of the most powerful pieces of advice Jordan imparted was, "Lead by example." People don't listen to what you say, they listen to what you do. Jordan didn't just talk about working hard; he put in the work, set the example for the team and inspired a culture of excellence. ?? Remember, leadership is influence, and influence is action. So be a role model to your family, team, business and community ??

This is so true. I've experienced both great leadership, and people in positions of leadership who have left much to be desired. And I've learned from both. There is truly something to be said for genuine humility in a leader. It attracts great people, cultivates healthy team environments and relationships, fosters open communication, and inspires people to give their very best. Humility is not weakness. It is an incredible strength! And as a bonus- you do not have to be in a position of leadership to be a leader. Your character and attitude can influence your workplace no matter your position. Let's be humble, hold ourselves accountable, take ownership and responsibility over our attitudes and actions, believe the best in others, give the benefit of the doubt, and contribute to positive, healthy cultures in our companies and teams!

Humility is a sign of confidence in leadership

If we possess too much pride and are trying to feed our egos, we are less likely to recognize our weaknesses and are more likely to over inflate our strengths. Both make us less aware.
