?? Recap: Empowering Researchers for Impactful Projects! ?? Last week, UCV researchers participated into a dynamic training programme of "RELEVANCE and IMPACT of a winning project proposal" tailored specifically for them and organized by Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir with the support of EU-CONEXUS RFS.?The programme provided the opportunity to learn about other funding instruments beyond #horizoneurope and #erasmusplus . We hope that this type of training and meeting point between researchers will translate into greater participation in projects beneficial to society in general. The training programme was conducted by D. Ivan Curzolo, an expert in community programming and international cooperation projects, working in National Strategic Frame of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports in Italy, and former Director of the Joint Technical Secretariat (STC) of the Transnational Alpine Space OP. He is author of several articles on territorial cooperation and local development and lecturer in Community planning. Key objectives of the training: ?? Explore institutional strategic goals and align project objectives accordingly. ?? Identify strengths and weaknesses to leverage resources effectively. ?? Navigate funding instruments to optimize project fit and success. ?? Master the rules of project implementation for success. This initiative exemplifies the commitment of UCV and the EU-CONEXUS-RFS Alliance to foster a culture of excellence in research, driving meaningful contributions to society. MID-TERM REVIEW OF NTNU INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH? Scanteam got its third contract this year under Norway’s NORHED program. We will carry out the midterm review of NTNU’s 13 research projects with 44 collaborating institutions in 12 countries with total budgets of more than NOK 263 million. The assignment was awarded in competition with four other tenders that had similar budgets, where Scanteam’s understanding of the task and approach to addressing the issues were deciding factors for winning the contract. NTNU’s complex portfolio covers a wide range of scientific fields, from very specific topics such as improving science and mathematics education to broader concerns of participatory and sustainable resource governance. Some projects focus on issues in a given country but working with several institutions, thus helping to build broader national skills and knowledge, while others are regional where cross-border collaboration is a key feature. The key task is to analyse if there are ways that project performance can be enhanced, while also looking across the whole portfolio to see how the work to strengthen local research and education capacities might benefit from more general improvements.

LNMIIT organising an EU Research & Innovation Info Day on Tuesday, 12th March 2024, at 9.45 am. It will be a half-day info session that will provide an overview of the European Union-India Partnership on Research & Innovation, upcoming co-funding calls, and opportunities for cooperation under Horizon Europe (EU's R&I Programme), Erasmus mobility programmes, i.e. Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and European Research Council Grants (ERC). A key objective of the info-day is to raise awareness among research scholars and students about the opportunities to participate in European bilateral and multilateral R&I programmes. Dear European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen, Dear Sophie Beernaerts, Could you please consider extension of Erasmus+ Programme by adding typical research&development components or small research-based grants to your Erasmus+ Action1 and Action2 Programme? This will solve some financial problems regarding co-funding of some small research activities of scientists in Europe if only this type of funding will be available for thousands of them similarily to educational and exchange grants. Learning & Teaching by Doing and Disseminating Research Together!

In a world filled with information overload, cultivate the skill of deep thinking. Seek knowledge, not just information, to navigate through the information coming your way. Advice for young scientists? Scientific idealism is the heartbeat of innovation. Uphold this spirit, knowing that science transcends individuals.
