What are our first-generation Living Labs doing now? While the second-generation Living Labs are getting ready to test their business models, we are checking in with the three original Recharge Living Labs - The Hunt Museum, Museo del Tessuto and Eesti Meremuuseum / Estonian Maritime Museum - to understand how their projects are moving forward. ? ?? How can we make Lund an even more inclusive city for internationals? What is your answer? Recently we have been asked by public decision makers: “How can we make Lund an even more inclusive city for our internationals?” ?? This question guides and accompanies the initiatives and activities of Eos Cares since the very beginning, towards all our target groups. ?? This question is reflected in the integration model that Eos Cares and Interkultur i Lund have formed and developed over the past years (to be found in the comments). ?? This question definitively has simple and more complex answers. Therefore we want to spark a discussion among the international and the local community in Lund. What do you answer to this question: “How can we make Lund an even more inclusive city for our internationals?” Looking forward to your ideas, inputs and insights! No matter how concrete, abstract, realistic or visionary they are. Let`s gather ?? ! #inclusionanddiversity #communitybuilding #interculturalcompetence #lund

Joining Humboldt Futures: an #experimentation space for ideating the #future of #museums. With a really exciting group creatives we address challenges that are at the core of the museums like Humboldt Forum’s actual status quo, practice and commitment. New ideas for a new future for museums. Limburgs Museum is always on board with these kind of endeavors. Humboldt Futures aims at contributing to #transforming these challenges into a productive #accelerator for future visions. Acknowledging that play is foundational for the generation of culture, Humboldt Futures refers to “#Homo #Ludens” (1938), the study of the play elements in culture by the Dutch historian and cultural theorist Johan Huizinga. As the Forum’s Digital Twin, Humboldt Futures is a projection surface as well as an experimentation space, opening an arena for playful discussion around the big issues of our time In collaboration between Hybrid Space Lab and?gamelab.berlin, a research and development platform of Humboldt Universit?t zu Berlin.Hybrid Space Lab? is a?Think Tank?and a?Design Lab?for Architecture, Urbanism, Design and Digital Culture. ? It is inspiring to us to read that already 200 years ago there was someone rebelling against the standard conference format and organising something a different kind of gathering, focused on catalysing serendipity! In the age of widespread online communication and collaboration time in person has become special. We need to re-think how to spend this precious time effectively, to get the richest experience and maximise the impact it will generate on our work and lives. The Gathering is an invitation to together imagine in what way we can come together that results in creation of a rich ecosystem of collaboration. How do we learn from the present and past of summits, conferences and festivals to create a new kind of format which best fits the needs and reality of our times?

I am delighted to announce the release of the book co-edited with Anita Jori "Living at Night in Times of Pandemic - Night Studies and Club Culture in France and Germany", Transcript 2024, 208 p. (in English) ?? Club culture has become a burgeoning interdisciplinary field of research in the social sciences. The lockdown and health restrictions have highlighted the crucial role of the night and techno cultures — largely stigmatized during the COVID-19 pandemic — as places of sociability and safer spaces for marginalized communities. Taking a comparative perspective, the authors of this volume offer fresh insights into the field of night studies and techno scene in France and Germany. They explore three main areas: scenes and communities; diversity and inclusion; social and ecological challenges for a sustainable club culture post-pandemic. ?? https://lnkd.in/e6n2vc6r

"The future doesn't exist. The only thing that exists is now and our memory of what happened in the past. But because we invented the idea of a future, we're the only animal that realized we can affect the future by what we do today" - David Suzuki I came across this quote as part of an exhibition in the Design Museum in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago. How empowering is it to think that we have the power to shape our future through the actions we take today! ?? Let's use this realization as motivation to make the most of every moment and create the future we desire. Let's set goals, work hard, and stay focused on our dreams! ?? ?Every small action we take now has the power to shape the future we want to see? #CarpeDiem #DreamBig #CreateYourFuture #ChangeStartsWithUs #FutureIsInOurHands ?#Impact #Positivity #Future #GoalSetting #Actions

What a vibrant discussion yesterday at the 4th Rencontre Elisée Reclus in Namur! "What innovations for what progress?" was the topic. It opened new perspectives, e.g. highlighting the distinction between technological and paradigm innovation, and stressing the emergent (autocatalytic, probabilistic) nature of life which cannot be fully understood within a reductionist and mechanistic paradigm. Preparing for the future means we have to create spaces for co-creation, for co-evolution with other beings on this planet. It also raised important questions. How can an R&I system increasingly controlled by extractive money become regenerative? How to empower individual researchers who 'mean well' but are caught up in the academic career machinery? https://lnkd.in/eD3KdZAa #Thankyou, Anne Goldberg, Roland Moreau, and colleagues.

Grow your home and habitat. A trend that is going to become ever more important. Grown materials (like hemp for hempcrete), products (like straw panels) and grown systems (for walls and cladding). E.g. we, at Bilda, have a system where the lead struts are made from callibrated bamboo poles - 40to50mm diameter.
Would a grown building be comfortable to live in? And how would it sound? Check our new publication at Journal "Research Directions: Biotechnology Design" by Cambridge University Press Great collaboration with Designer Jonas Edvard, acoustics expert Albert Dwan from Arup and Danish Design Museum, where the Myx Sail is on display until end of year. Visit, see and hear! Many thanks to Pernille Stockmarr, Nicole Pérez, Achim Klein, Víctor de Tejada Molera, Jeanne Sarton Du Jonchay, Freja Emilie Kr?mmer Nielsen, Benedikt Trojer #Mycelium https://lnkd.in/eAhWRTwb.
