Happy #InternationalPronounsDay! Being your authentic self and normalizing it for others should be accessible – members of the LGBTQ & Transgender Advisory Committee handed out free pronoun pins and badge tags outside of the University of Virginia School of Medicine Claude Moore Health Sciences Library on Wednesday. Several years ago, we began asking patients their pronouns and preferred name at registration as part of an initiative to improve care to our transgender population. Its continuation into the rest of UVA Health’s clinics and beyond is just one part of a larger goal to provide respectful care to our gender expansive population. ?? According to the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Guide rankings, UVA School of Nursing's BSN program is the no. 8 public program (no. 13 overall) among the nearly 1,000 accredited U.S. nursing schools that offer a BSN.
