I'm officially adding teacher and mentor to my bio! Last week, I hosted a 3-day masterclass for professionals in content and social media, where I shared everything I've learned and done to succeed in my career. We covered: ? First thing to know before transitioning from PM to PgM role? PgM is less about "doing" and more about "orchestrating". To succeed, you need to: ? See the big picture ? Aware of what and why of organizational goals ? Capability to understand inter-dependency b/w projects ? Have a line of sight between Org Goal and day to day work The best way to prepare? ?? Get two mentors - one inside org, another outside ?? Talk to existing PgMs, understand real challenges ?? Volunteer on programs (this is best way to learn) ?? Leverage LinkedIn. It was a thumping ?? experience at my 1st time as ????? ????? ?????? or TTM last Saturday. An opportunity came and decided to go for it to run a session and gain more experience in public speaking. March was my month of starting my #toastmasters journey, so what a hopping start on Easter weekend to be a TTM! What I learned planning and executing for it: ?????? setting the topics was a balance of being creative and making the topics interesting. Planned a balance of the #IWD theme that is heavier vs Easter celebratory topics. Guess which was more popular? ?? ????Be less ambitious and set topics that have shorter sentences...they require less repetition during the session. ????♀?Rehearse key points to mention and make the speech relatable to audience and the theme I am presenting. Research some interesting points to engage the audience with one's speech. Learning to balance speaking in line with my thinking to reduce f????? w??d? this is one key skill that I am learn to take note and to remove ?? from my speech at all times. ?? Beyond the Challenge: Staying Committed to the Goal The last nine days has been a mix of excitement, discipline, and growth. Putting myself out here consistently has pushed me to delve into a deeper level of creativity and accountability. Showing up everyday isn’t an easy task, but here’s what I’ve learnt along the way: Once you commit publicly, you strengthen your determination. You hold yourself accountable, not just to your goals, but to those watching and rooting for you. In that regard, I am making an open commitment to keep pushing until I reach my set goals. This challenge may be wrapping up, but the drive and determination it sparked in me are just getting started. Staying consistent is where the magic happens. Every day is another step forward, and with each step, the vision becomes clearer. So, let’s not stop here. Let’s keep pushing. Let’s inspire others along the way to stay consistent and see their own goals through. Together, we can build momentum, support each other, and achieve more than we ever imagined.
