7 years ago today, we launched KitBash3D with a simple mission: to enable and inspire creators of the virtual frontier. What started as a dream between Banks Boutté and I has grown into something far beyond our expectations. It’s been a journey of constant learning, striving for excellence, and finding people all over the world who believe in this mission. Over the years, we’ve built over 150 Kits and 20,000+ assets, each one helping to push what’s possible with 3D. We’ve made breakthroughs in Interoperability and launched Cargo to connect 3D data seamlessly across software. We’ve hosted live events and challenges that have introduced millions of people to world building. What began as an ambitious idea has evolved into a finely-tuned machine, a unique platform in the 3D industry that empowers creators around the globe. This year, to celebrate everything we’ve learned and built, we’re excited to introduce Inside KitBash—a new behind-the-scenes video series that takes you deep into the heart of KitBash3D. In this first episode, we show you how we build our Kits—from the initial concept all the way to the final product that fuels blockbuster films, AAA games, and more. It’s been seven years of striving to be better in every area, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing team, our passionate community, and our incredible partners.
