I want to share the final presentation for a research project I was a core member of in Fall 2023. One of the main goals of this research is to constrain which elements in the chondritic composition of rocky planetesimals are potentially outgassed during high-energy accretionary processes, leading to a more thorough understanding of the initial compositions of planetary atmospheres.

The sea can be unforgiving, capricious in the extreme, given to sudden changes of mood. And surely we would not want it any other way, for is not part of its appeal, that inherent free spirit, although it can bring sadness as well as joy?. The sea can never be tamed but we can, at least, come to terms with the challenges presented. It is within our own ability to reduce risk and improve safety, although even this is by no means straightforward. The Lloyd's Register Foundation, is a politically and financially independent global charity that aims to engineer a safer world through promoting safety and education. The Foundation focuses on the most pressing global safety challenges, establishing the best evidence and insight to understand the complex factors that affect safety at sea and by building partnerships for change. For a thriving ocean economy, Lloyd's Register Foundation funds multiple and global research initiatives, foster industry collaboration and develop action-oriented solutions. Lloyd's Register Foundation James Michel Foundation
Lloyd's Register Foundation has awarded a £635,000 grant to the Centre for Port Cities and Maritime Cultures at the University of Portsmouth. This funding will support a new, six-year doctoral programme, where researchers will use lessons from past maritime energy transitions to understand the impact on coastal communities in the Global South. "As scientists, our minds are influenced by our surroundings, which in turn influences what we pay attention to. As a marine scientist studying within Inuit Homelands, I’m aware that I come not just with sampling equipment and research questions, but also many biases and blind spots."
