I want to share the final presentation for a research project I was a core member of in Fall 2023. One of the main goals of this research is to constrain which elements in the chondritic composition of rocky planetesimals are potentially outgassed during high-energy accretionary processes, leading to a more thorough understanding of the initial compositions of planetary atmospheres.

The sea can be unforgiving, capricious in the extreme, given to sudden changes of mood. And surely we would not want it any other way, for is not part of its appeal, that inherent free spirit, although it can bring sadness as well as joy?. The sea can never be tamed but we can, at least, come to terms with the challenges presented. It is within our own ability to reduce risk and improve safety, although even this is by no means straightforward.
