https://lnkd.in/gnVJHJcf Economic development doesn't always mean pavement. How can we support economic development while also protecting our food and water resources? Here's a great example. "Jennifer Colvin is a fifth-generation rancher in Tenino, and her family’s ranch, Colvin Ranch, has been operating in Southwest Washington for more than 100 years. Supporting local, family farmers, and ranchers is how we invest in rural economies and promote community-minded agriculture practices."

Slightly out of uniform today….. and for good reason! I have had the privilege to work with many in the farming community over the past 10 years and will always get behind anything that supports them. Although I work with fewer farmers these days, the businesses I coach through Many Rivers rely on them in one way or another - everything does!!! Please support Farm Angels, previously Drought Angels - https://lnkd.in/g7SBsgGA #FlannoForAFarmer #businesscoaching

Norlha 's Environmental Impact ~ The race for the market that marked the last two decades have led nomads to invest in higher numbers of cattle. They saw opportunities for more income and herding was all they knew. The negative impact has been the decimation of the pasture, which results in gradual erosion and an impact on the animals’ health. Establishing Norlha has proven that herding is not the only means of livelihood and that income can be diversified. Many families have now sold their animals, opting for a regular job and the stable income that it brings. This has eased the burden on those who continue to herd and now have more and better grassland to feed their flocks. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eqg7A_Pk

From contracts to cowboy boots: fall is when my two worlds collide. ???? ?? Fall is about bringing things home, both on the ranch and in the office. It's the final push to round up the year's efforts and close them successfully. In the office, the calendar pages flip rapidly towards EOY: it's the final sprint, where every contract counts and every deal can make or break the annual targets. No pressure, right? On the ranch, fall signals the return of the herd from the vast forest pastures. They've spent the summer roaming, but now it's time to saddle up and bring them home for the winter. Both worlds, seemingly disparate, share a rhythm of urgency and precision. Just as herding cattle requires strategy and foresight, so does negotiating contracts. Each contract wrangled is a steer guided home, each deal closed a successful season wrapped up. As we ride into this year's sunset, let's tip our hats to the harvesters, ranchers, and deal-makers. ?? Whether you're navigating fine print or fields, may your contracts, crops, and herds be bountiful. ?????? #inhousecounsel #ranching #contractmanagement #fallharvest #corporatelaw #agriculture
