What an incredible detective story! It looks like this mystery is on its way to being solved. Months of documentary research were needed to locate the site before excavation could begin, including maps, newspapers, probate and genealogical records, and deeds. This is one aspect of an archaeologist's work that is often overlooked, but equally important. Looking forward to learning more as new details and artifacts come to light. There are so many more amazing stories waiting to be told around New England. What's next? https://lnkd.in/eKbEdr9B

Another U.S. public library realizing the power of Recollect in sharing its digital content- in this case, a trove of genealogical content with more to come in the future. Many of our sites contain not only historically and culturally significant materials, but genealogically important materials as well- from city directories, newspapers, yearbooks, newsletters, house organs, and other periodicals, as well as photographs. Creating accounts on these sites allows you to bookmark items for further research at a later time. #contentmanagement #digitalassetmanagement #collectionsmanagement #culturalheritagecollections

Hard History: We have more than 25 combined years in the classroom, successfully navigating uncomfortable conversations and curriculum topics in middle school… without shame, trauma, or even a parent complaint! We have facilitated professional development on these topics at national, state, and local conferences, including the 2019 NCSS Conference in Austin, TX, and the 2021 Virtual MDCSS Conference. On the Horizon: PD for Worcester County Public Schools - Supporting Worcester County Public Schools with professional development for the new 6/7 Maryland Social Studies Standards.
