This month I’m celebrating 2 years of an absolutely amazing partnership with Innovate UK ???? We filmed this video 2 years ago at our launch. Since then we have: ? Held 9 events for VCs & late-stage investors to catalyse more capital going into climate tech ? Brought together over 200 different investors ? Featured talks from over 18 subject matter experts But more importantly, we’ve seen incredible results: ? Investor feedback averaged an 8.7/10 satisfaction score for all events ? Between 50-85% of attendees left events MORE likely to invest in the sector (this is probably our biggest win and the impact we’re most excited about ??????) ? How do we save the planet? ?? ?? Last week, I attended the Collective Impact Summit hosted by PHINEO Startups to try and find out! I watched their Accelerator Pitch Event and heard their fantastic keynote talks on Forests of Tomorrow and Rethinking Forests: Science, Practice, and Policy in Dialogue. Here are my top 3 takeaways that every changemaker should know: 1?? Partnerships are Key to Lasting Change We can’t solve society’s biggest challenges alone. Corporates, NGOs, startups, and investors all need to work together to create meaningful and lasting change. It’s only by leveraging the unique strengths of each sector that we can drive forward solutions that benefit people and the planet. 2?? Funding for Environmental Impact The panel Rethinking Forests: Science and Practice in Dialogue – featuring Dr. Jennifer Schulz, Susanne Roennefarth, Gabriel von dem Bussche, and Ole Seidenberg – highlighted the critical need for patient capital in supporting startups that positively impact nature and the environment. Thoughtful investment is essential to give these initiatives the runway to grow and make a difference. 3?? Strength in Community The Summit showcased the power of a collaborative approach to tackling complex issues, from climate to displacement to democratic resilience. The community atmosphere at Impact Hub Berlin emphasized just how essential collective action is in addressing today’s interconnected crises. ??
