Everyone once had a dream of what they wanted to become in the future. Mine was taken away from me at a very young age. I find myself in a situation where I don't know what I'm capable of. The chances to achieve my career dream weren't forthcoming, and I gave up on the future. Someone reached out to help me. This is what we're reaching out with InternSify to help millions of Africans achieve their career dreams with access to jobs and global opportunities. I once worked in an organization where only the privileged got a job. If you're not connected to someone regardless of your qualifications, What happened to the underprivileged? How can they have access to an internship opportunity to learn in-demand skills to get a job? Lack of internship/apprenticeship is the major challenge to youth unemployment in Africa. This is my pain. With InternSify, everyone is privileged for an internship with practical, hands-on, tech/non-tech, and artificial intelligence.

On Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) and unpaid internships: You promote the youth, peace, and security agenda in all forms. You seek to involve us in your projects in any way possible when it's handy and convenient for you. You understand and speak about the need to provide livelihoods and opportunities for the youth to prevent radicalization, yet you offer unpaid internships, fully aware that it will exclude 99% of candidates from the global south and 95% of candidates from the global north. Indeed, a majority of young people in the world (big surprise) are unable to work full time for free because, yes, we need to eat and pay rent. Don't tell me there is no money. The Unseen Costs: A Closer Look at Unpaid Internships in the UN Common System As I reflect on my two decades with the United Nations in various leadership roles, particularly in Human Resources, I’ve observed many transformative shifts in how we manage talent and foster career development. However, one persisting practice — the unpaid internship — demands a closer examination for its long-term implications on both the organization and its aspiring workforce. At its core, the United Nations was established to promote peace, equality, and development. These values are deeply embedded in our missions and are reflected in our dedication to humanitarian and development work across the globe. Yet, paradoxically, the unpaid internship program seems to counteract these principles by inadvertently promoting a less inclusive workforce.
