Well, what can I create in 15 minutes? Hold my ?? . Storytime...Tomorrowland weekend 2 2024, TOSKA reached out to us last minute and we delivered! VisionXstudio . We had 2 sets clashing at the same time in different stages[Tomorrowland has 16 stages BTW :D ] and both wanted an aftermovie plus pictures. What was challenging was that TOSKA's set was only for 30 minutes. The floor was legit shaking and here's what I managed to shoot quickly in under 15 minutes and shoot 2 aftermovies in that 60 minutes window! . Crew entry is really exclusive at festivals like Tomorrowland and in situations like these, you cannot have big multi-crew[I find it hilarious what most production companies deliver here with multi-crew members, half of them just to increase crew head-count and justify budgets] to execute a HQ video but rather, hybrid experts who know how to shoot quickly[sometimes even alone like I did] PS- we shot and delivered pictures too in those 15 minutes, that's another post :) #lesstalkmorework #visionxstudio #neerajkt #tomorrowland #samedayaftermovies

This is a HUGE step towards AI films. Talk about blowing away the competition. I’ve only been playing with it for a few minutes and it’s already producing useable scenes. SCENES!!!! Not an image Not a blur effect passed off as motion. Not a slight pan and zoom effect. Actual motion scenes that correspond to the action being described in the prompt. Is it a film? No. But could a talented storyteller use these scenes to create a compelling short? Probably. Can you spin up pre-visuals, do b roll, establishing shots, background shots, and a fair amount of principal footage to cut down on production costs today? Absolutely. Have you tried it yet?

Luma’s cinematic motion (both camera and subject moves) are a big step for AI video, breaking that “floating pause” feel every video seemed to have until now. Behind that specific improvement, there’s more evidence that we shouldn’t take for granted the limitations of the technology. Whatever they are, they may just be a matter of having the project list finally hand on it to get it solved. It happened to the multiple fingers, it reached the rovering… which makes sense if you think there are real people, but not enough, and real compute power but not enough, working on these problems. So the resources are limited and they have to go for the bigger, more frequent, more impressive or fundamental ones first. But once any problem lands on the hit list… it’s done. So don’t look at the current problems of AI as essential limitations. Most of them will be solved as soon as the project manager says it’s time. Most of them, not all, I said. The question I keep asking myself is: what are the problems that will never be solved because they are inherently part of what being AI is?
