At Hertfordshire Business School, we are committed to providing our students with real-world insights that bridge the gap between theory and practice ?? Recently, students from our Human Resource Management programme had the opportunity to engage with two professionals who brought the world of HR to life. We were delighted to welcome Lakshmi Raghavachari, an experienced HR Business Partner, who offered a firsthand look at 'a day in the life' of an HR practitioner. She shared invaluable insights into the challenges, highlights, and evolving nature of her role. We were also joined by Rebecca Healy, Visiting Lecturer, who provided an informative overview of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Students gained a clearer understanding of the value of CIPD membership—both in terms of professional development and career advancement—and how it aligns with best practices in HR. The session was not only an opportunity to learn from industry professionals but also to gather key insights to support their final assignment: "An HR Practitioner – An Individual Reflection." Many students left the session feeling inspired and more equipped to explore potential careers in human resources ??
