The goal is to emphasize that business software, such as ERP or CRM systems, is designed to be customized to fit a company's specific needs, not used as-is. Customization is crucial for businesses to remain competitive and adaptable. Modern software's cloud-based nature ensures long-term support and eliminates the risks of on-premise systems becoming obsolete. Furthermore, the focus in ERP projects has shifted from making profits through licensing to ensuring the project's long-term success, creating a vested interest in smooth implementation and ongoing client satisfaction.

One way that we talked about extensively is a cloud subscription and. Essentially based on the number of users and type of licensed and you had your pink and monthly etc. There is an alternate way to get B software for yourself, and that's 2D unrevised. O socially, you would have the choice to host the business central, in this case dynamic 365 software on your own servers in your own facility if that's something that you prefer. Or there's also an alternate way to do that too if you don't have those servers, which is the initial. Their capital investment they need to make. You could use Azure servers and install Business Central. So essentially it's your rented servers. And the cloud system. You have the full. Access to the software, to the database and you're already paying for what you're using with respect to the hardware that you're renting in the cloud such as like storage or RAM or CPU and etc. O both of these are called on premise, whether it's like your ground or it's in the cloud itself. But what makes it very different than subscription or SAS cloud system is. You are responsible for your own maintenance updates, so you don't have to worry about the maintenance of the hardware if you unclouded Azure systems because they're going to be taking care of what If it's underground on site, then obviously you have to look after. Maintenance of the hardware 2 Then it comes to maintenance of the business central, the software itself. Whether it's inside or it's injure servers, you still need to deploy those. Updates and if there's any troubles and etc, you're solely responsible to do that. Or actually in this case, we've seen many companies will resort to use the help of consultants to do that. Now. Let's be honest. Uh, let's talk about the. Cost for these licensing, I'm going to ask you a question with it. What about my SQL Server license and my server licenses? Goose are all have to pay for them. As mentioned, if it's in Azure service, there's the cost associated to that too. You're basically paying it by use case or they're like different scenarios. You want different servers like annual like monthly. There are various setups that Microsoft is offering. And have the presidential you're paying for it, one way or another. But if it's a cloud subscriptions, you don't have to worry about any of these. These are all locked together and essentially you're making one payment that is floral heartburn for some clutter. You're renting it for maintenance of the hardware, for maintenance of the software and et cetera. So you really have to go completely worry free and everything is taken care of. Now when he comes to the license so I don't have any windows updates and I already security patching on my Windows Update. I'm talking about the server here client the server. I don't have any SQL Server updates. I'll always service packs I don't have any. Make me cry virus right? I think network fault you cry. No I didn't but die with SQL Server attack. So all of those things if I'm in a cloud system. Are relevant. They are not relevant anymore. So SQL Server even the standard version. Right. I mean. It's it's at least a whole couple $1000 you get started, but it's. Sold by the core right away by poor cores. I need a bucket of line. Right. And I mean Windows Server Scanner, Windows Server Data Center. Which one do I want? Am I going to run more than one virtual machine? Do I need an Active Directory is security order and do I question my ways? Yes. Because now I have to worry about goals and roles, not just roles. I worry about the apples as well, but it's a cloud, just rolls. So I'm and then wow, SQL Server authentication. Ohh, that's that's a well, that's that's that's my books that I got to read. And so, so it, it's, it's a thing. And then I got a boy, the nerd that knows how to maintain all this sound or hire us than to have known exactly right. And these are all costs, right? So let's be honest, you have to Add all these costs and let's see what you're getting and what you're actually gaining, what you're losing. So in this case, if you have unrevised version, obviously the license is going to be cheaper. And probably that explains why many consultants would have more. Profits and unproduced licenses. But at the same time, you have to be heard that all these maintenances that we talked about the downside and essentially if there's any failure and change U the hardware, if you're excited onsite version, those are the things that you have to take into consideration. So you may or may not actually end up paying more. It did if you go for the on premise version. What game? Every client needs different things. That's an option if somebody wants it. Now probably it comes you know everyone's mind, Dad. Well, if all of these are true, then how come? Like in what way consultants are going to profit from from these SaaS or cloud subscription. And the reality is there's really not a lot of margins when we talk about like these subscriptions for consultants. And essentially what we're looking for is a long term relationship and the fact that we're able to help companies grow. So our relationship essentially is a long term relationship we're looking at to grow with the company. And to help to to turn on more features as it becomes more relevant to their operations and essentially to help them to customize and to make them more efficient. Those are the things that we're investing on. And honestly, it's not so much on the subscription.

Best practice is overly used in the ERP industry. It is only applicable in a narrow fashion for systems that are build for a certain vertical. Even then, things can be improved so it should be tested if it's a good fit before accepting it as is. There is also an inherent contradiction in the term because if the way an ERP approaches a process is best practice, what do the next versions deliver. Best practice can only be claimed when there is no improvement possible. Whenever "best practice" in mentioned, the following questions should be asked: 1. According to whom is this a best practice. 2. For whom is this a best practice. 3. Is there a better way? What other practices exist for this process? 4. Does this work for us? 5. How else do other businesses perform this process. The answers to the above will uncover the nuances of "best practice". Sometimes, it will indeed be and many times it won't be.

Software vendors will never represent best practices for business processes. The role of software is to provide a generic product that works for thousands of people. That’s an inherent disconnect with process best practice. What works for one company may not work for another. It's not that one of them should change. It's that they are different companies with different people, different products, different priorities, and a different history. My vision for QuickBuild is to provide the infrastructure so that each company can implement the best practices for THEIR process, and not force them to accept a software vendor's opinion of best practice. What is your opinion of best practices?
