Excellent points, Val. We who saw 9/11 terrorist acts will never forget the loss to so many families. It seems today, the principle of “see something, say something” lost its impact. When Ivy League and other students, potentially funded by foreign terrorists and career protesters, waved Hamas and ISIS flags, vandalized monuments, and intimidated Jewish and other students, it appears that speaking up no longer makes a difference. Many colleges fail to address severe antisemitic actions, while minor infractions against other groups often result in expulsion. Is it 1939 Germany or 2024 America? I have to ask myself seeing so many posts rightfully, honestly recognize our terrible losses on 9/11... but I haven't seen mention here or on the news of who did it and why. And now similar terror groups are here, loud, proud, and popularly accepted by faculty and students more than ever before. Let's not forget 9/11--and who and why they slaughtered innocents. And we can't afford to forget that terroristic goal hasn't diminished, as daily evidence indicates.
Today, we come together as a nation to remember September 11, 2001—a day that tested our strength but never broke our spirit. In the face of tragedy, we saw the best of humanity: compassion, resilience, and unity. As we honor the lives lost and the heroes who emerged, let us also celebrate the enduring strength that unites us all. Together, we are stronger. #UnitedWeStand #NeverForget #September11 #StrongerTogether

History has a way of leaving us with heavy questions, doesn't it? Take the My Lai massacre, for example. On March 16, 1968, in a small Vietnamese village, something horrific unfolded. U.S. soldiers, sent in with orders they believed were just, entered S?n M?, thinking they were hunting enemy fighters. But what they found were unarmed civilians-innocent men, women, and children. Imagine the fear in their eyes, the confusion. This wasn't a battlefield; it was a community, a place where families lived, loved, and dreamed of peace. Yet, in a matter of hours, hundreds were killed. It was a massacre that stripped away humanity. These soldiers were young, many just out of their teens, caught in a war that blurred the lines between right and wrong. When the truth of My Lai emerged, it sparked outrage. It forced America to confront its actions and question the morality of a seemingly endless war. So, as we reflect on this tragic event, let's ask ourselves: how do we ensure such atrocities never happen again? It's not just about remembering; it's about learning, holding ourselves accountable, and striving for a world where compassion prevails over violence. History teaches us-let's not ignore its lessons.

Today, we honor the memory of those lost in the tragedy of 9/11. This day serves as a reminder of the deep sorrow and suffering that violence and hatred can inflict. Yet, as we commemorate, we must also confront the uncomfortable truth that as a global community, we often remain silent in the face of ongoing atrocities. We cannot claim to honor the victims of past horrors while turning a blind eye to the genocides and war crimes occurring in our world today. As humans, we have the power to choose which side of history we want to stand on — whether we contribute to the perpetuation of violence through inaction, or work toward peace and justice. Let us truly honor the victims of 9/11 by doing our utmost to stand against injustice wherever it may occur, for silence is complicity, and action is the path to change. #LetUsBeHumans #September11 #WorldPeace

On Tisha B'Av, we're reminded of the destruction caused by baseless hatred. And today, as Israel faces both internal strife and external threats, and as Jews worldwide confront rising antisemitism, the lessons of this day are more relevant than ever. Let us use this time for introspection and unity. While we mourn past tragedies, we must also reflect on how we can foster understanding and respect among all Jews and with our neighbors. Our strength lies in our ability to come together, even in times of disagreement. May this Tisha B'Av inspire us to heal divisions, combat hatred, and work towards a future of peace and mutual respect. Together, we can turn mourning into hope and division into unity.
