Kicking off the New Year with exciting news! I’m thrilled to announce NielsenIQ’s partnership with the CTA, the owner and producer of CES—the global tech event often referred to as the "Super Bowl" of the industry and North America's largest technology trade association. Having spent much of my career immersed in the tech industry, you will find me in Vegas this week beaming with excitement given this collaboration following our recent merge with global data powerhouse Gfk. Several friends have been asking me what we can expect this year at the show. While AI will dominate most conversations at CES, many other dynamics will shape this year, such as the impact of tariffs and shifting consumer spending habits. For instance, a $500 TV or the Xbox Series X I recently purchased for my son might see significant price jumps. How will consumers react? How will the brands adjust their pricing strategies? Consumers remain cautious but intentional in spending, with growth led by IT, small domestic appliances, and telecom, while AI-integrated PCs and gaming tech drive innovation. Regionally, North America and India shine, while businesses focusing on value and adapting to localized needs are set to thrive in 2025. Brands that prioritize value, cater to local needs, and stay nimble in responding to shifting consumer demands will have the edge in 2025. As for me, I’m thrilled to dive into innovations like digital health wearables, smart (AR/VR) glasses, and the latest in audio products including next-gen headphones. I'm back home in Germany! ?? London was as exciting as always. This time, I wasn't just there as a tourist but attended the Retail Technology Show. Although this trade show is already a tradition and well-established, it was my first time experiencing it. My impressions are very positive — the show is well-organized and highly accessible since visitors can attend for free and enjoy all the talks. This inclusivity is really important. The exhibitors' quality is excellent; it feels like everyone from our industry is there, giving the trade show an international touch, which is crucial for us. As for industry trends, AI is everywhere. However, I notice that use cases are becoming clearer and more well-defined. We're witnessing a retail technology revolution driven by AI, I am sure. While customer loyalty, social networks, and marketing-related tech aren't the main focus, they remain essential for retailers. That was very obious for example during the TikTok shop talk. I also see a stronger shift towards complete solutions rather than hardware technologies, with cloud solutions clearly dominating. Overall, it was a great show that showcased fantastic solutions, technologies, and innovations for everyone to see. #retail #retailinnovation #pointofsale

?? A bit late post, but it's worth to share :) Week ago I have been to the Retail Technology Show in London! This event is a goldmine for retailers. This year, the show was bustling with cutting-edge solutions, from AI-driven analytics to revolutionary payment systems. From advanced loyalty programs to 3D hologram advertising from #hypervsn. Truly wow! Anyone who is seeking a partnership - that's a place to go. Everyone is super welcoming, sharing their experience and open to talk. The opportunity to connect with potential partners was unparalleled. The Retail Technology Show is more than just a exhibition. It's an insight into the future of retail. To ensure it doesn't all sound too good to be true, here are a couple of things future participants might want to pay attention to. The exhibition app — let's just say it doesn't work perfectly. Planning meetings and searching for participants during the show is not recommended as it often crashes. Another not quite perfect aspect is the difficulty in finding the areas where presentations are given.
