Today, Highlander Health Co-founder Amy Abernethy took the stage at HLTH Inc. in Las Vegas with Joaquin Duato, Johnson & Johnson Chairman & CEO. They discussed their shared passion about utilizing science and technology to solve some of the biggest health care challenges of our time. During the fireside chat they discussed lots of topics, including how curing cancer is considered the ultimate health moonshot. Both agreed that getting treatments approved isn’t enough – we also need them to be widely adopted.
They also touched on cardiology and the crucial role technology plays in all phases of health care. The siloed approach of healthcare is not sustainable, and data needs to be easily shared across drug development, med tech and digital health. Amy shared more about Highlander Health’s partnerships to simplify clinical trials and innovate the potential of real-world data. “We want to understand what approaches work across settings, coalesce stakeholders, and embrace the evolution happening in the market right now,” she said.
The pair dove into leadership roles as well and the exciting future ahead for health care if we dare to be bold. Thanks for having us #HLTH24
