The Kaweah Subbasin has issued a response following the release of the State Water Resources Control Board’s Kaweah Subbasin Probationary Hearing Draft Staff Report. Here are some key takeaways of the response: ? ??Kaweah Subbasin GSA leads & technical teams have been working closely with State Water Board staff over the last several months to revise their GSPs to avoid probation. ? ??The subbasin anticipates having a completed revised GSP available at the end of May or in early June. ? ??Kaweah Subbasin GSAs have undertaken tremendous work to implement projects and management actions to achieve groundwater sustainability. ? ??Staff and technical leads are developing a coordinated response to the issues in the State Water Board Draft Staff Report and for the State Water Board’s workshops next month. ? The CA Department of Water Resources reviewed the GSPs twice and determined the Kaweah Subbasin to be inadequate, resulting in the Draft Staff Report.
