Please share this wise and much needed intervention.
An intervention in the current arguments, in collaboration with Fethi Mansouri, proposing that we need more courageous dialogue and collaboration across fault lines: we need to use our skills to hold our society together, not let our emotions force it apart.

Thrilled to share that I just finished a course on "Using Interreligious Dialogue to Strengthen Peace, Reconciliation and Social Cohesion". From the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) It was very busy 8 weeks, but the course gave me a comprehensive view of the importance of dialogue and its intersection with every action we take, from our informal daily talks to more formal exchanges like conversations, deliberations, and debates. It highlighted how dialogue plays a crucial role in preventing conflict and building integrated and harmonious communities. Through the course, I realized that effective dialogue is not just an occasional practice but a fundamental aspect of all forms of communication. The course content of 8 modules: Module 1: Theories and Methods in Interreligious Dialogue. Module 2: A Brief History of the Modern Interreligious Dialogue Movement. Module 3: Dialogue Theories and Ethics: Exploring the Conceptual Landscape of Dialogue. Module 4: Prejudices and Stereotypes: How to Treat Islamophobia, Christianophobia, and Anti-Semitism. Module 5: Interfaith Dialogue on the Internet: The Religious Phenomenon in Virtual Communities and Social Networks. Module 6: Interfaith Peace and Dialogue Models. Module 7: Interfaith Dialogue: A Venue for Peacebuilding. Module 8: Outcomes of Dialogue Processes. Thank you, Georgia Gleoudi for this interactive course it was comprehensive and tangible. #peace #peacebuilding #dialogue #youth #youthengagement #youthempowerment #Sustainability #europe #eu

Message for the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples As Indigenous peoples, we are the keepers of vibrant cultures, captivating traditions, and rich, colourful histories. As Crees, we have worked hard to maintain a strong connection with our culture and remain protectors and stewards of Eeyou Istchee. This year, the United Nations has declared the theme as ‘Protecting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact.” It is evident that colonization has had a deep impact on Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous cultures and languages are vulnerable—not only here in Eeyou Istchee but across the globe. Our Indigenous brothers and sisters around the world face similar challenges in preserving their identities in a rapidly changing world. We can be proud of how we have maintained strong ties to our history, language, and culture. As Indigenous peoples, we share common barriers and difficulties. It is crucial that we stand strong together, supporting one another, alongside allies who advocate loudly for our rights as distinct peoples.

Having lived experience and worked closely with many First Nations, it is clear that we, as First Nations people, need to reset from the colonial mindset and reconnect with the cultural values and principles of our ancestors. Too often, when individuals are elected to political office, their good intentions for positive change are undermined by those entrenched in maintaining the status quo, adhering to a colonial system established in the Indian Act, which prioritizes self-interest over collective well-being. Did you ever notice that external contractors with successful bids, have connections to the bureaucracy that is supposed to look after the First Nations interest. “Friends in high (right) places” if you will. We must remember that we had no part in its creation; we were merely directed to enforce it (Chief and Council). As part of our healing journey, our leaders must exemplify a “we” mentality in all their actions. I would willingly follow anyone who seeks to understand my needs and actively works toward the goals of the collective membership. Not just “my” but “our” priorities.
