It was a pleasure to welcome Professor Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Department of Health & CEO of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to AbbVie HQ in Chicago this week. With the development of a new Life Sciences Industrial Strategy, a new 10 year plan for the NHS and the ongoing implementation of the O’Shaughnessy Review, there’s never been a better time to discuss the opportunities for collaboration between all stakeholders across health and social care to raise the standards of care, drive better outcomes and tackle the toughest health challenges for UK citizens.
