This past weekend, our Red Team went to the Southeast Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) and took first place! The competition required teams to conduct a simulated penetration test for a fictitious company. During the competition, the team - which included Ayden Colby, Adam Hassan, Yuliang Huang, Tristan Ratchev, Avigail Laing, and Daniel A. - assessed the company's security by exploiting a wide variety of services over an 8-hour period. The team then spent the following 7 hours writing a 60+ page report identifying the state of the company's network, relevant findings, and possible mitigations and best practices the company could employ to improve its security. The team will continue to Globals in January. This year, the top three teams were all from Florida, with USF taking 2nd and UCF taking 3rd. Thanks to the regional hosts at Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center and Augusta University! As well as to the organizers at Global Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) and all sponsors! #UF #UFSIT #CPTC #CyberFlorida #GeorgiaCyber #CyberEducation #Cybersecurity #IBM #BHIS

If you’re looking to improve your skills in defending critical infrastructure from a cybersecurity perspective, look no further than. Jason Dely outlines the upcoming SANS training. #SANSInstitute #SANSICS #OTsecurity #ICSsecurity
This month marks 5 years since the first beta run of #ics612 ICS Cybersecurity In-depth. Wow...Looking back over those years, I am in awe by all the amazing people I have met and the friends I have gained from each past class. Conversations were fantastic, feedback has been inspiring, and each run has been memorable. After 5 years, we are still driven to continue pushing this course to be a special part of our community of ICS defenders. To mark this milestone, I created this video to provide a glimpse of what to expect from this course. Some of the images within were shared with me from prior students thrilled to be in attendance. Do not miss out on these upcoming North American runs of ICS612: SANS CDI:?https://lnkd.in/g34wPZyT SANS New Orleans:?https://lnkd.in/gDiJA3Wj ICS612: Cybersecurity In-Depth https://lnkd.in/gWpgXY_Z #sansinstitute #sansics #icssecurity #otsecurity

Come join me for a #networking session with more than 40 business owners and professionals this Thursday. There will be presentations on #cybersecurity and #investment from industry experts - Marcus Leong and TJO JARROD. I'm personally interested in the #digitalforensics topic as it is not a common area of focus that is often talked about. Yet, there is surely a growing need for this in the #digital era. The investment mindset is also one that many don't get taught in school. Yet, a good #investmentportfolio is highly essential if we want to gain financial freedom from the day-to-day working for income. So, block your calendar for this Thursday at 7.30am for an engaging event, followed by a sumptuous brunch and plenty of new connections. PM me if you'd like to come. I'll also post the registration link in the comments section below. #networking #singaporeevent #singaporeevents
Marcus Leong and TJO JARROD will both be sharing on their specific areas of expertise. We are all aware that the digital landscape is growing at an unprecedented rate and cyber threats are happening constantly. One way to be a step ahead is to figure out the methods of the cyber criminals. Forensics is one such way to learn the gaps in the defence against cyber attacks. Investment is never just about the timing of the market. In most cases, it is about the timing in the market. But how is that related to Jack and Jill? We are just as curious as you! Don't worry, this time curiousity will not kill the cat. Join us this Thursday and spend a productive and value added morning. We will also be celebrating our small wins for the week!

Business Email compromise (BEC) is a type of attack targeted mainly at organizations. Becky Kathurima and her team have written a guide on the following to help organizations prevent BEC attack: 1. Definition of a BEC attack. 2. Simulation of a BEC attack, and an illustration of how to identify a BEC attack as well as common tactics that attackers use. 3. A live demonstration employing email verification and authentication tools. 3. Comprehensive explanation of the impact of BEC attacks on organizations. 4. An outline of preventive measures and best practices for mitigating against BEC scams. Pls read for the benefit of your organization???? #cybersecurity #cybersecurityawareness #staysafe
?? One of my recent highlights of the Cybergirls Fellowship by CyberSafe Foundation was the Open Day Project ?? My teammates and I were assigned a really exciting project on Business Email Compromise (BEC) and its impact on organisations. Several group meetings, coaching calls with our wonderful coach, and deep research later, our combined efforts culminated in our presentation which went as follows: 1. I will share a simpler breakdown over the coming days to share more about what we learnt as we undertook our Project. ?? My deepest respects to my teammates who we brainstormed with, worked on our delegated segments, collaborated and excellently presented with on our Open Day project. It was immensely fulfilling to work with them Anena Okot, Vepukisa Tjiuiju, Priscilla Amo-Afful and Esther Adetoyi. Our Coach worked with us up until the very last moments, even staying up late during our final meeting, to guide us through. Hats off Felix Germain!!! ?? ?? Ultimately, I remain grateful for the opportunity and support from the CyberSafe Foundation and Confidence Staveley to grow my hands-on cybersecurity skills and knowledge. ?? #Cybersecurity #BusinessEmailCompromiseAttacks #SocialEngineering #EmailVerificationAndAuthentication
