"As someone who started over two decades ago with a small departmental Research Experiences for Undergraduates program and then moved to open a campus-wide office at a Hispanic Serving Institution, working on COEUR 2.0 has been an extremely validating experience. It allowed me to team up with and hear from multiple contributors who have experienced firsthand the positive impact that undergraduate research, scholarly and creative inquiry continues to have at the national level on students from diverse backgrounds, with different academic and career interests, and from the full spectrum of higher education institutions. This richness of experiences and recommendations shared by program directors, mentors, evaluators, higher administrators and students will serve to inspire not only those who are starting to develop programs at their institutions, but also the more seasoned individuals who could in turn serve as allied voices to agencies, foundations, donors, and others at the state and federal levels." A high-level delegation led by Professor Freddy Boey, CityUHK President, visited CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University in France on 5 April. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by President Boey and Professor Romain Soubeyran, President of CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University, to foster academic exchange and further develop the co-operative relationship between the two institutions. The agreement focuses on the exchange of academic, research and administrative personnel between the two institutions. Additionally, it explores the feasibility of student exchanges and teaching collaboration, and encourages joint research projects in areas of mutual interest. Some of 2024's successful Cluster 2 proposals built on relationships forged through EU Alliances, so it's great to see support to enable further development. Most Irish universities are involved with an Alliance, so for those researchers who don't feel sufficiently networked across Europe to join consortia, this can be a good place to start.

Minister Patrick O'Donovan TD today announced the allocation of €2.3 million to support the participation of Irish universities in European Universities alliances (EUA). “This funding is the second round of support given by my Department to the EUA initiative and will further strengthen the role of Irish universities in these alliances, while also supporting student exchanges, research, innovation and engagement." ?? https://lnkd.in/dCvpySSe

Teachers hailing from the Caribbean region are impactful in a plethora of different sectors and have led to successful achievements over many decades for learners, graduates and academic/corporate/governmental institutions all over the globe. This research will no doubt exemplify the benefits to champion and challenges to address for a healthy and prosperous future of international 21st Century education

In this clip, Professor the Hon. Margaret Gardner AC, Go8 Chair 2020-22, Monash University Vice-Chancellor 2014 to 2023 – and these days Governor of Victoria – and Professor Ian Young, Go8 Chair 2014-15 and Vice Chancellor of The Australian National University 2011-16, try their best NOT to answer our question about research highlights from their time at the helm of the Go8 and their universities. Both allude to the value of research being about more than just the breakthroughs that change the world but also about the incremental discoveries that add to our understanding of the world and our society. Go8 universities conduct 70% of all the university-based research in Australia and invest $8.5 billion dollars annually in that research.
