How Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture uses its Horticulture Innovation Lab GATEway Garden is incredible and the fact that it is open for everyone to explore is even better! https://lnkd.in/g3NpQ7Vn
?? Exciting visit this week! ?? We were thrilled to have the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders at University of California, Davis tour the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture Demonstration Center! The visit was an incredible opportunity for the Fellows to explore innovations for small-scale horticulture producers. During the tour, Fellows learned about: ?? Solar Chimney Dryer - a sustainable solution for drying crops using solar energy ?? Zero Energy Cool Chamber (ZECC) - a low-cost evaporative cooler for preserving fresh produce ?? Dry Chain (including DryCard? and Drying Beads) - processes for ensuring product is safely dried and stored safely to maintain crop quality These and other #HorticultureInnovations address food security and enhance agricultural productivity in regions across the world. A huge thank you to UC Davis Global Affairs and the #MandelaWashingtonFellowship program for promoting the international exchange of #YoungAfricanLeaders and #GlobalDevelopment in higher education. Together, we're planting the seeds for a brighter tomorrow ???? For 2023 and 2024 Flickr album: https://lnkd.in/gZifaSsG ----------------- DID YOU KNOW?
