I really appreciated this thoughtful reminder about the value of quiet time. It can be hard not to get caught up in the feeling of needing to rush from one thing to another—but taking even a little bit of quiet time can do wonders. One thing I try to do at least a few times a week is to take about a 30-minute, fast-paced walk without listening to a podcast, an audiobook, or music. Whenever I do, I find that my mind opens up, allowing a stream of consciousness to unfold. I may think through problems, remember something, feel inspired, get some creative ideas, get clarity on what my current business or personal priorities are, etc. How do you find a way to take some quiet time? How does it help you?
Five minutes of quiet time after a draining meeting can go a long way.
