Leaving Madfest day 1 feeling inspired to say the least! A brilliant line up of speakers today from across the industry, sharing some clear take outs on how brands can win: ?? Stop saying you're being bold and actually be bold - We talk a lot in FMCG about 'taking risks' and 'pushing the boundaries' but the reality is we often remove the risk from those boundary pushing projects out of fear. We should feel fear, that's how we know we're taking a risk ?? We can't do everything, but we do have a choice - We don't have infinite budgets and there SO many category problems that need solving, but we must be selective about what we do and what we pursue. We have so many tools to leverage to help guide us, inspire us and facilitate that 'brave' mentality ?? Start saying 'why not' - We need to create cultures that foster new and creative ideas. Not everything will work and that's totally fine (just own it!). It will either become a winning innovation, or a lesson. It's a win win! With all that in mind, watch this space....

Starting a business can feel like walking a tightrope, where every step—every decision—seems to have the weight of the world on it. This week, QBRs are at the center. I couldn’t be prouder of the development and dedication of my team members. It’s incredible to see how much we’ve achieved together. We also noticed that the small things make a big impact: ?? Explaining the Purpose of Meetings: When everyone understands the "why," it transforms the "how" and "what." Clear objectives lead to more productive discussions and outcomes. ?? Following Up After Meetings: Consistent follow-ups ensure accountability and keep us all on track. It’s a simple practice that reinforces our commitments and drives progress. ?? Kindness Costs Nothing: A positive attitude and a few kind words go a long way. Supporting each other not only boosts morale but also fosters a culture of engagement. Thank you to each team member for your hard work! Had our monthly all-hands meeting last week, and it was great to catch up with the legends on our team. I might start opening those up to those in our Bullpen - our publicly-acknowledged group of folks that we don't have the volume of projects to be able to work with yet. They share their skillsets, and we bring them in when we have projects that align with their strengths. These folks are amazing. Also, they sit on top of the team of 90 that I am always talking about. If that knowledge strikes a "hey, there might be something we could do with that" thought, give me a call. I want to help these folks get paired with great projects/roles - inside Catapult Commercialization Services or not. And while we are figuring out the attributes (like skills, talents, experiences, and interests) of people, we also like to talk to clients about the attributes of their product that set them apart AND are being demanded by their target consumer. I officially started the challenge on April 8th. Initially, it felt like I was going to be stuck on Day 1 forever. I’d make some progress, but something would happen, and I’d be back to square one. My days looked like this: Day 1, Day 2, Day 1, Day 2, Day 1, Day 1, Day 1. But little by little, things got better and I finished the challenge last week; it took me just under 4 months to get to Day 21. ?? Getting on $5000/month challenge and this is the one thing I'm promising myself. ??TO NOT RUSH. You see, it's hard announcing such challenges online because people are looking. And, just because people are looking, dosen't mean I have to RUN just for the sake of it. I don't have to proove something to someone. I know that makes me vulnerable. All I have to do is, prove myself to me. Take one thing at a time and see how hardwork and consistency pays off.
