After Nucor announced a weekly price Cleveland-Cliffs said it will publish a “Cliffs Hot Rolled Market Price” via letter to all flat-rolled customers on a monthly basis. The price will be published in conjunction with the monthly opening of the Hot Rolled order order book will be simultaneously published at https://lnkd.in/dBBJ-Pwd. Cliffs may also update this price more frequently as market conditions necessitate.

Nucor raises wire rod prices $20/ton @Fastmarkets By Robert England October 17, 2024 Nucor has increased its wire rod transaction prices by $20 per ton effective immediately, the company said in a notice to customers on Wednesday October 16. "Existing confirmed orders will be price protected if shipped by October 31, 2024," Nucor said in the notice. The move followed a period of weakening demand and reduced production by domestic mills, including the temporary pausing of wire rod production a month earlier at Liberty Steel's mill in Peoria, Illinois. "I am certain other mills will follow [with a $20 per ton price increase]," a Midwestern distributor said in response to Nucor's price notice. Liberty Steel does not expect to restart its wire rod production in Peoria until "the end of October at the earliest," a company source said.
