Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend an insightful finance update webinar hosted by East Sussex YRes and West Sussex YRes. ???? It was fantastic to hear from the experts Chloe Kenvin and Gerald Wilson from 36 Family, who shared their expertise on recent developments in financial cases within Family Law. Their insights were truly invaluable to my ongoing learning and professional growth. ???? The discussions on how recent cases have evolved, and how they differ from past precedents, were particularly fascinating. It’s clear these changes will play a crucial role in how we approach similar cases moving forward. ?? Not only has the webinar enriched my knowledge, but it will also enable me to better support my clients with effective, up-to-date strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes. ?? A big thank you to all involved in organising this valuable session! ?? It was also great to attend alongside my colleagues Aryan Fallahi, Hanna Batkin, and YRes committee member Theresa Wright—we’ve had some fantastic discussions since then about how to implement what we learned. ?? What recent legal developments do you think will have the biggest impact in the family law space? ?? #FamilyLaw #FinancialCases #ProfessionalDevelopment #LegalUpdates #ClientSuccess #YRes #Networking #BrittonTime

An irrevocable trust is a legal arrangement where assets are transferred by the grantor (the person creating the trust) to a trustee, who manages those assets for the benefit of the beneficiaries named in the trust document. The key feature of an irrevocable trust is that, once it is created, the terms of the trust generally cannot be changed by the grantor. This means that the assets placed into the trust, as well as any income generated by those assets, are typically no longer considered part of the grantor's estate and are subject to the terms of the trust. Irrevocable trusts are commonly used for various purposes, including estate planning, asset protection, and tax planning. They can help minimize estate taxes, protect assets from creditors, and ensure that assets are managed and distributed according to the grantor's wishes. Because they are permanent and typically cannot be modified once established, creating an irrevocable trust requires careful consideration and often the guidance of legal and financial professionals.
