?? The work of all partners in each project is a myriad of technical, analytical, but also practical work. Today we'll dive into the role of the Wind Energy Department of the Delft University of Technology in TWAIN. ?? For Riccardo Ferrari, the Delft Center for Systems and Control of TU Delft is prepared for the real life analysis of wind farm operations in extreme conditions "as an outcome meant for a wide-public. We are working on developing a serious game where the general public, policy makers and industrial stakeholders can simulate the effect of different policies, markets and extreme conditions on the operation of a wind farm." #twainproject #windpower #windfarm #windenergy #artificialintelligence ________ DTU Wind and Energy Systems | Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER) - National Renewable Energy Centre | Delft University of Technology | Technical University of Munich | F6S Innovation | ENGIE GREEN | Laborelec | EDF | Ramboll | SoftServe

?? TWAIN is the work of all partners, and today we'll know more about the role of Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER) - National Renewable Energy Centre in the impact throughout the project. ?? For Irene Eguinoa, CENER will, as scientific and technical coordinator of the project, contribute "to the advanced data-driven modelling of complex wind farm operations and to the development of an open-source integrated decision-support tool. This tool will empower wind farm owners and operators to make better informed decisions throughout the wind farm lifetime by bringing together the broader impacts of plant operation and strategic management." #twainproject #windpower #windfarm #windenergy #artificialintelligence ________ DTU Wind and Energy Systems | Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER) - National Renewable Energy Centre | Delft University of Technology | Technical University of Munich | F6S Innovation | ENGIE GREEN | Laborelec | EDF | Ramboll | SoftServe

?? TWAIN's partners, ENGIE GREEN and its R&D center, Laborelec, are major actors in the production of renewable energy and are now working on improved procedures and research on Wind Farm Control (WFC). ?? In the words of Ariane Frère, Research Program Manager, "on top of providing wind farm data to the consortium, ENGIE Laborelec will be acting in the evaluation of flow and load modeling methods, as well as in the integration of the adapted acoustics, birds and bats strategies. ENGIE Laborelec will contribute largely as well in the definition and evaluation of the use-cases integrating lifetime and environmental aspects." #twainproject #windpower #windfarm #windenergy #artificialintelligence ________ DTU Wind and Energy Systems | Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER) - National Renewable Energy Centre | Delft University of Technology | Technical University of Munich | F6S Innovation | ENGIE GREEN | Laborelec | EDF | Ramboll | SoftServe

Potential benefits make #SENSE Enhance sustainable offshore energy production, optimize the utilization of power transport to shore, and reduce energy fluctuations through the co-production of offshore wind and solar energy. Additionally, this approach could boost the utilization of future offshore hydrogen production, thereby strengthening the business case for future offshore hydrogen initiatives.
What an insightful day at the Solar-Enhanced North Sea Energy (#SENSE)-Hubs event! The stakeholder forum brought together the offshore solar, wind and hydrogen communities for the first time in big numbers! The stakeholders delved into the future of integrating offshore solar, wind and hydrogen in the North Sea's energy system and what needs to happen to make this a reality. ? Thanks to the excellent speakers for sharing their insights: Rene Peters from TNO, Marien Ruppert from TenneT, Werna Udding from Gasunie, Lieke Homminga from Zeevonk, Rene van der Meer from the #PosHydon project , Johnny Meit from Oceans of Energy, Erwin Noordover from NewGroundLaw and to the moderator of the day, Dr. Iratxe González-Aparicio from TNO. ? Key Highlights: ? Policy and Targets: dedicated policies and targets are required to stimulate offshore solar deployment, such as including offshore solar targets in offshore wind tenders and subsidy arrangements such as SDE++ or CfD. ? Barriers to Entry: The consensus was that the technology itself would not be the key barrier for reaching offshore solar enhanced North Sea energy hubs. Instead, questions were raised on costs and investments, ?highlighting the importance of redistributing costs and benefits among users and providers. ? Stakeholder Engagement: The day demonstrated large opportunities that showcased a broad desire for a strong stakeholder community to effectively collaborate and build the offshore energy system of the future. This is the start for further collaboration. ? The Solar Enhanced North Sea Energy-Hub Stakeholder Forum was organized by TNO, Oceans of Energy, Deltares, and Utrecht University. The SENSE-Hub consortium furthermore includes NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, NewGroundLaw, Primo Marine, AE and has received cofounding from the MOOI program by Netherlands Enterprise Agency RVO. ? #SolarEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #EnergyHubs #SENSEhub #NorthSeaTwo

New sectors are emerging in the North Sea. For this to happen, a huge drive is required, new ways of thinking and commitment from multiple stakeholders is crucial. While innovation is often associated with technological advancements, our experience across various projects shows that it is needed at multiple levels. This includes regulatory and legal frameworks, new approaches to evaluating value creation (I've grown weary of the current business case framing) and desiging with nature in mind. See below our SENSE-Hub stakeholder forum aftermovie to get a glimpse on the topics addressed. I am thankful to be part of the transition, and not only the energy transition but also the mindset transition.

?Thrilled to Share Some Exciting News!??? I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been awarded a grant of 240,000 DKK to support my work in IEA PVPS Task 16, Subtask 3 for the next 1.5 years. This task focuses on advancing solar resource forecasting to improve the integration of solar energy into energy grids. My role will be to develop methods for more precise short-term solar energy forecasts using innovative tools like all-sky imagers and high-frequency irradiance measurements. These advancements are essential for managing the increasing share of solar energy in modern power systems. I’m grateful for the support from EUDP and the opportunity to contribute to such an important field. A big thanks to my colleagues at DTU and the international collaboration through Task 16 for making this possible. If you’re working on solar forecasting, renewable energy, or grid integration, I’d love to hear about your work and exchange ideas. #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #IEA #PVPS #Task16 #EnergyForecasting #Sustainability

This week, DTU got a new test facility—Ris? Hybrid Power Plant. "Research is one of the most important keys to the green transition. Ris? Hybrid Power Plant will help us develop the right technological solutions and make them scalable. It’s a test facility that will make a noticeable difference in the work of converting the energy system to 100 per cent renewable energy," says President Anders Overgaard Bjarklev. The Ris? Hybrid Power Plant has: ? two wind turbines ? a solar power plant ? an attached battery It is a small facility that can only produce electricity for the annual consumption of 200 households. The purpose of the plant is to develop and test new technologies before scaling them up to commercial full-scale hybrid power plants. Plants that will potentially supply several hundred thousand households. At the inauguration of the Ris? Hybrid Power Plant, built in collaboration with the energy company TotalEnergies, Lars Aagaard (The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities) and Marie-No?lle Semeria , Senior Vice President R&D OneTech participated.
