I suspect this is made to look better than the reality the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) have done excellent work around new garden towns & cities which are much for comprehensive or would make sense for the govt to appoint them to lead on these new settlements and regulate what developers are delivering. houses must be higher standard and future proofed not a regurgitation of the current mediocre developments that straggle around the edges of existing towns. these new places must have good public transport not being careful centric like the current ones. The design needs to be community led and linked to local character not the usual boring homes we see. This is a real opportunity to do something exciting and inspiring but could if cutting costs is the lead be a total disaster. https://lnkd.in/e7ZnCVVU

It's always a pleasure to have Sheri Koones on the GreenHome Institute CEU webinar shows. Did you happen to catch last week's session "About ADU: The Perfect Housing Solution"? Sheri also brought in some fantastic guests, Tessa Bradley and Jamie Wolf Participants found the webinar informative and helpful in learning about ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units). Many participants expressed interest in learning more about zoning and construction information, as well as the cost of building ADUs. Participants also highlighted the importance of energy efficiency and accessibility when designing ADUs. The top phrases mentioned by participants include zoning rules and regulations, energy efficiency, impact fees, and the benefits of ADUs for multi-generational living. ?Overall, participants gained a better understanding of the potential benefits and challenges associated with building ADUs, and many expressed a desire to learn more about this growing trend in housing. Over time, this exciting and innovative clean energy network will provide low carbon heating to 15,000 new residents, shops, schools and commercial spaces. ?
