In this edition of "Profiles of L.O.V.E.," Host A.J. Ali is joined by Jane Elliott (whom he affectionately calls his cousin)! Jane Elliott’s Mission: One Race. She is an internationally known teacher, lecturer, diversity trainer, and recipient of the National Mental Health Association Award for Excellence in Education. You may know Jane from her Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise, which she devised in response to the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968. This famous exercise labels participants as inferior or superior based solely upon the color of their eyes and exposes them to the experience of being a minority. She unapologetically exposes prejudice and bigotry for what it is, an irrational class system based upon purely arbitrary factors. And if you think this does not apply to you. . . you are in for a rude awakening. Learn more about her work at janeelliott (dot) com. Allow me to momentarily step away from business matters before returning to them. In the fabric of our professional journeys, the threads of humanity, friendship, and teamwork collaboration to create a mosaic of unmatched resilience and color. By #embracinginclusivity, we unlock our true collective potential, a force that illuminates our aspirations and solidifies the base of our #sharedpursuits. In every act of support, every #instanceofempathy, and every #gestureofkindness, we reflect the core of what it means to be a part of a community. The community flourishes on the #collectivecommitment to safeguard, elevate, and foster those among us who need it most. This collaborative spirit lays the groundwork for an #environmentofgrowth, allowing each one of us to achieve our full potential and, in doing so, contribute to the overall well-being of our group. Let's champion #inclusivity, acknowledging that our greatest strength lies in the diversity of our experiences and the wide range of our viewpoints. Together, let's strive to create teams that are more than just groups of individuals working together but true communities united by #sharedvalues of #empathy, #respect, and steadfast #support. As we navigate the complex landscapes of our careers, let's always remember that our true power resides in our humanity. We discover our real purpose and the road to a more inclusive tomorrow by supporting those in need and soothing the uncertainties. On this path, let us all serve as sources of hope and support, for it's through our #jointefforts that we can make the ideal of #strengthinhumanity a lived reality. ??

Do something and change starts.
Award winning broadcaster, best-selling author & speaker l Translating complex economic, political & business concepts into engaging, understandable & humorous narratives for organisations
???? ????'?? ?????????? ???? ????, ????'?? ???? ???? ????. We often wait for someone else to solve our problems. The government, big corporations, or someone with the "power" to make a difference. But often, the most powerful change starts with one person taking one small action. The very first News24 excerpt from my new book, "The One Thing," shares the story of my brother John Whitfield. After years of building businesses, he decided to devote his time to his community in Gqeberha, helping to restore St George’s Park. It wasn't easy, and he had every reason to turn away. But instead, he rolled up his sleeves, took action, and built momentum. Now, thanks to the Friends of St George's Park, the area is thriving, with new initiatives like the soon-to-launch Parkrun, restored sports clubs, and an overall improvement in safety and community spirit. What started as "one thing" became a movement, and it’s had a massive impact. The first excerpt from "The One Thing" is out now, and I hope it will inspire you to think about what your "one thing" could be to improve your community or country. It's through these small, meaningful actions that we can build a better future, together. Read the full excerpt on News24 and join us in making change happen, one action at a time. https://lnkd.in/ehST6jmY

Navigating the emotional conflict between self-love and people-pleasing is a profound journey, especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds where respect and acknowledgment were scarce. Balancing the need to prioritize one's own needs while also valuing others requires deep self-respect. True growth comes from recognizing that honoring oneself is not selfish but essential, transforming past neglect into a foundation for self-worth and authentic relationships. #WeLockedIn #LC Lerebolo Consulting

Are you the elite? “Rasmussen’s research defines and polls this class of people to demonstrate the profound gap in views between the elite and the general population. The elite's views on society, politics, social ills, the environment, education, and the economy are more divergent from mainstream America than ever before.” Click to read more of this edition of #Porchlife https://lnkd.in/ei-dgM9q

Being Dyslexic Is Not As Easy As A,B,C...Mind Bicycle In the world of business, those of us with dyslexia don’t just think outside the box; we often don’t even see the box. We traverse an unconventional path, driven by a desire to explore and wander rather than follow a prescribed route. It’s not that we aim to be disruptive or cause upset. Like the sequence A, B, C, we don’t always follow the traditional pathway. We might leap from A to C, circle back to A, then onto B, and sometimes, after much exploration, find ourselves back at A again. Or we might skip straight from A to C, forging our own path to understanding. To us, the world is a blank canvas, inviting us to apply our unique blend of creativity and critical thinking. We approach problems not just to solve them but to unravel them, to understand them from angles unseen by others. This ‘dyslexic perspective’ is our magic sauce. It enables us to navigate through complex challenges, dismantle barriers, and ultimately, drive innovation forward. Our journey might not be as easy as A,B,C, but it’s this very journey that equips us to tackle some of the world’s most pressing problems with unparalleled ingenuity. Being dyslexic isn’t a hindrance; it’s a different kind of roadmap—one that leads us through exploration, discovery, and sometimes, to the realization that the journey itself enriches our solutions. In embracing our dyslexia, we embrace a world of possibilities. Let's celebrate the diverse thinking that moves us forward, that sees not just the problems but the myriad solutions waiting to be discovered. Together, we can create a more inclusive, innovative, and understanding world. Made By Dyslexia Richard Branson #dyslexicthinking #thinkoutsidethebox ##connectthedots
