True Net-Zero: A Groundbreaking Equation Transforming Sustainability Numbers have always played a critical role in innovation, especially in the design and construction of buildings. In the sustainability sector, our AEC Research revealed that the significance of precise calculations has been overlooked for decades. While the term "Net-Zero" has been in circulation for some time, its true application in achieving sustainability has been misunderstood. The?True Net-Zero Equation, invented by?Ghazala Miftah, Assoc. AIA , is a breakthrough that redefines the way we use the number zero (0) in the real world. In mathematics, zero is often viewed as "nothing"—whether it's zero time meaning no time, or zero angle meaning no change. However, when zero is attached to the word “Net” in sustainability, it creates a transformative scenario. We recognized the hidden power of zero (0) and simplified it into an equation to show how it can be applied to achieve the ultimate goal of a net-zero world. "Accurate Formula for Achieving Net-Zero" Over the last few decades, significant efforts and investments have been made towards sustainability and green practices with the aim of achieving a Net-Zero world by 2050. However, recent data indicates that these efforts have fallen short of their goals. Dexign 3D, through extensive research in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, identified a missing component in the current sustainability approaches. This led to the development of the "True Net-Zero Equation," a new formula designed to effectively achieve global Net-Zero targets. The equation, invented by Ghazala Miftah, forms the basis of Dexign 3D's "IDS Sustainability Model for Net-Zero Emission Buildings," which provides a clear path and accurate formula for reaching Net-Zero with its proprietary platform and two new technologies. At Spisea, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. Designing and building floating structures tailored to the most demanding environments is our specialty. ?? For Lake Serre-Pon?on, exposed to waves formed by strong northeast and southwest winds, Spisea developed a revolutionary and precisely calibrated wave attenuator. ?? ?? ???? ?????????????????????????? ??????????????????: ?? Each floating element is limited to 8 meters in length and must be anchored using chains, cables, or ropes without touching the bed of the former river. ??The wave attenuator system must be able to beach itself when the dam is drained - a necessity in this environment. Traditional systems on the market could not meet this specific requirement. ?? ?????? ???????????????????? ????????????????: Following an in-depth study based on data collected over a year, Spisea designed a custom aluminum structure linking HDPE tubes with a 500 mm diameter, capable of reducing wave impact by up to 35% at 50% (we measured the values using a device adapted for upstream and downstream ADCP). ? The two upper tubes ensure flotation, while the lower tube absorbs part of the wave inertia. ? The structure comprises five interconnected modules. ? These modules can be assembled into longer configurations, providing enhanced protection based on the structure to be safeguarded. ?? This design resulted in a flexible and adaptable structure, perfectly suited to the site’s changing conditions while ensuring high efficiency. Spisea brought its expertise in custom design, combined with an environmentally conscious approach to minimize impact on the local ecosystem. ?? This project highlights our ability to innovate and tackle climate and environmental challenges by delivering sustainable solutions tailored to the needs of Lake Serre-Pon?on. ??
