Virtual Incision brings a unique benefit to minimally-invasive, robotic-assisted surgery – miniaturization (miniRAS). Traditional robotic equipment takes up a lot of space, requiring dedicated operating rooms. This space requirement creates a ripple effect, resulting in more complex scheduling for patients and long turnover times for surgical facilities. miniRAS is compact, fitting in a surgical tray, meaning it can be ready anywhere, at virtually any time, for any patient.

Excited to share our latest blog post on 3D Holistic OR Anonymization! Our novel method leverages 3D information to automatically anonymize multi-view RGB-D video recordings of operating rooms (OR). This approach preserves the original data distribution by replacing faces in each image with different ones to maintain suitability for downstream tasks. We also introduce a multi-view RGB-D dataset capturing experienced surgeons performing laparoscopic surgery on a swine, showcasing typical OR characteristics.
