Hey, I know times are tough. I understand budgets are tight. But how much is your time worth? How much is your readers' time worth? Asking readers to slog through 10 pages —?or more! —?of survey questions is asking them to clock in for free work. This is even worse when all the questions require responses. The surveys are getting so long they feel like digital timeshare presentations. And what's in it for them? A raffle to win a $100 gift card? That's it? Do we really value their opinions? If you do, give 'em $100 for completing the thing. Not a raffle. You submit a completed survey, you get $100. I think even fifty bucks is reasonable. But if you require a substantial time and effort investment from a reader, you need to compensate them for doing you a huge favor.
