Launching December 9: The First Issue of Radical Creativities In just one month, we’re thrilled to launch the first issue of?Radical Creativities, a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of people and organisations who believe in the power of culture to drive just and equitable transformations in our communities. Our ambition is to celebrate those who act on this belief, bringing tangible change through diverse cultural expressions. With?Radical Creativities, we welcome a spectrum of perspectives from all backgrounds, fostering a space where stories are told through a variety of languages, mediums, and forms. We see plurality as essential to understanding the layered complexity of our world—and through this understanding, taking responsible and meaningful action. In naming the project?Radical Creativities, we are underscoring the importance of a multiplicity of creative practices, histories, and lived experiences. Academic research, cultural practice, and art are not separate worlds, but interconnected issues that shape our understanding of ourselves and our communities. Dear friends and colleagues, Culture Action Europe has launched a State of Culture survey. It’s a part of a larger research initiative?on the?State of Culture in Europe.?We aim to create a snapshot of cultural policy affairs in Europe and understand how national and European priorities align with the concerns and aspirations of the cultural sector. This is especially important as 2024 will see European and many national elections, likely bringing new policy priorities and shift the general discourse. At this turning point, we want to ensure that culture holds its rightful place in this evolving landscape. As part of our research, we invite you to participate in the?State of Culture Barometer. This survey seeks your perspectives and opinions on various topics: What role does culture play in society and policies? Are cultural and creative sectors valued by policymakers in the ways they should? How do you personally feel about the current state of culture in Europe? We call on people working in or with cultural and creative sectors and industries to share their insights. Please help us out and take some time to complete this survey by midnight CEST on?May 18, 2024.?The sooner the better. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes and consists mostly of closed questions, requiring you to choose from given options. Your responses will be anonymous. Establishing mentoring programs to support the growth of women into leadership roles ? Creating an Interactive Inclusive Writing Guide for our brands ? Amplifying underrepresented voices in sports through our #HereToStay campaign? ? Fostering inclusion in sports through partnership with Special Olympics? ? Tutoring youth from underserved communities through our partnership with Hinuch Le-Psgaot I believe that one of the things that make all of that so inspiring is the fact that there are so many people across the company who are committed and actively contribute to this incredible impact: My true partner, our CEO, Asaf Peled, our CMO,Andres Cardenas and the rest of the executive team who lead the way, our brands who tell the authentic stories, The Players’ Tribune, 90min, FanSided and Mental Floss; our ERGs (Natalie Zamora; Katherine O'Malley Randall; Sarah Recinos; @Luis Tirado) and my People & Culture team that I'm so proud of and who stand behind so many initiatives making these projects possible (Mor Green;Sarah C.;Maya Shavit;Tom Spada;Hillary Bystedt;Serena Muniz; Hila Shrama;Yoav Stern; Nofar Nuri Poterman; Adam Ahmad Masry; Nikkita De Cesare (Assoc CIPD) and Tohar Kait).
