I really, really like this Smith & Wesson Model 632 Ultimate Carry! Took it to FRC Firearms, Range & Clothing today and ran two boxes of DOUBLETAP AMMUNITION .32 H&R Magnum, 120 grain hardcast through it, which averaged a very respectable 939.4 feet per second (stdev of 30.2). If you're doing the math, that's an average power factor of about 113. First off: this is the most comfortable J frame I've ever shot. I own plenty of Js in just about every butt and grip combination imaginable, and these Vz Grips get the job done with plenty to meat to hang on to in all the right places, and not a gram more. The action is very smooth. There's a definite wall right before the hammer falls, but I had no problem rolling past that and into a smooth followthrough. The XS Sight Systems sights were spot on. A bright, impossible-to-miss dot on the front and a half-round trench at the rear. As iron sights go, I don't know that you're going to best these. 2" barreled snubs are never going to be the paragon of revolver accuracy, but on my inaugural trip with this gun I had no problem making fist-sized groups at 15 yards. It probably helped that I was tossing lighter .32 caliber rounds, although the felt recoil of these H&R Magnums approximated .38 Specials. In 1876, Smith & Wesson released the .32 Single Action, which was meant to take the place of the aging Model 1 revolver. It was only slightly larger in size than the Model 1, but it had a number of advantages, not the least of which was a much more robust barrel hinge and an automatic extractor that made reloading much simpler. The .32 Single Action was made from 1876 until 1892, when double action revolvers (with proper trigger guards) were becoming the de facto standard, and when single action-only revolvers were becoming obsolete. I made significant progress on my shotgun's Snare Shot ability today! Although the concept of the ability seems straightforward, there were numerous intricate components to consider. First, when the Snare Shot is charged, the effect is applied on the next hit, not the next shot. This design allows you to fire the shotgun freely without the risk of losing the charge. Several effects accompany being snared: - While snared, you cannot move or jump. - Your aim speed is reduced by 25%. - A small snared icon appears at the top of your screen whenever you are snared. - A subtle blue snare particle effect appears at the bottom of your character throughout the duration. After testing this mechanic several times, I concluded that a 3-second duration for the snare ability was excessively powerful. Therefore, I decided to reduce the duration to 1.5 seconds. Overall, I am happy with the design of this ability, but I may revisit it in the future to make the ability significantly slow the target rather than stopping movement altogether.
