It is estimated that 1 in 8 women take their own lives as a result of domestic abuse: every day almost 30 women attempt suicide as a result of experiencing domestic abuse and every week three women take their own lives. #suicideawareness

On this significant day, let’s shed light on the devastating impact of sexual violence in conflict zones, particularly on women and children. ???? ?? Disproportionate Impact on Women and Girls: Women and girls bear the brunt of conflict-related sexual violence, accounting for over 95% of UN-verified cases. Men and boys also suffer, albeit to a lesser extent. ?? Health Consequences: Sexual violence leaves lasting scars on survivors’ physical, sexual, reproductive, and mental health. Victims face increased risks of sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies, and infertility. The trauma can reverberate across generations, affecting families and communities. ?? Social Fabric and Livelihoods: Beyond health, sexual violence shatters the social fabric of communities. It curtails women’s livelihoods and disrupts girls’ education.
