This week is #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek - our #SpaceToThrive research with Power to Change as part of the Health and Wellbeing Alliance explores the vital role of community spaces in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people across England. This research was guided by the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities and engaged around 100 VCSE organisations, statutory professionals, and young people. Through this, we identified six key findings: - Community spaces which support CYP mental health and wellbeing come in all shapes and sizes. - Their support is critical in this area, both for CYP themselves and their wider communities. - The demand for both “open access” and “specialist” provision from community spaces in this area is increasing. - Community spaces offer a low or no-cost, depressurised, safe, and relaxed “third space” for CYP, away from school and home life. - They create positive impact across a wide range of factors affecting CYP mental health and wellbeing. But, they are facing multiple challenges in sustaining their space and provision. Based on these findings, we present 10 recommendations for the health system and VCSE sector, including at Primary Care Network, Integrated Care System, local authority, and national level. These recommendations cover: - Resourcing community organisations - Culture change and collaboration - Workforce development - National policy priorities and development If embraced, they can help to maximise and sustain the role of community spaces in this crucial area. ??Read more: https://lnkd.in/eKtNy97Z

Are you part of a collaborative group that is facing challenges gaining momentum and making a difference? ??Maybe you're having a hard time getting clarity on the group's purpose, making decisions, or getting things done. ??Maybe you struggle with leadership, engagement, or governance. ??Or maybe you're just feeling stuck. Does this sound like a group you know? ??The Collective Results team can help. We've combined our team's knowledge from our years supporting collaboratives like OHTs and community drug strategies, as well as the latest research on collaboration, to develop the Community Collaborative Assessment and Action Toolkit (the CCAAT). The CCAAT is a “pulse-check” for your community collaborative. It helps you assess your collaborative’s current state and provides tailored, evidence-based recommended actions for improvement that align with your needs and capacity. This type of work is not always easy for collaboratives to do on their own. This is where CR comes in. We acts as a neutral, unbiased third party, creating a safe and confidential space for group members to share their perspectives anonymously. We then facilitate the whole group through a welcoming and easy to follow discussion about how to interpret and take action on the group's results. Read our blog below to learn more or reach out to us anytime.
?? In this week’s blog, we explore the opportunities and challenges that many community collaboratives face. There is so much potential in the difference a collaborative group can make, but groups often struggle to make a difference when they're missing key foundational elements. Have you ever been part of a group that has struggled to move forward? Read on to learn more about how CR can help you understand the strengths and challenges of your?collaborative group and develop a customized plan to set your group up for success! https://lnkd.in/gF3eG4YS

Trauma-Informed Utah (traumainformedutah.org) provides training and technical assistance to organizations looking to incorporate trauma-informed principles throughout their operations. This is applicable across all sectors, as trauma is pervasive and does not target any one area of business or work. From the top down, operating with this trauma-informed lens, culture and climate is improved, satisfaction is increased, and retention of staff can be stabilized. Just as important, the team brings their best selves to work, so outcomes with clients improve. This is not a “flavor of the day.” It is reality, that when embraced and incorporated, will make a positive impact on the day-to-day work among team members and those you serve. I encourage you to explore this further. We are there to help you along the way. With or without Trauma-Informed Utah, this change will make a tremendous difference in your workplace.
Stronger Organizations. Stronger Communities.

Great article on the “power of community”, and leaning in on your community when toxic isolation is no longer serving your health and wellness. Get away from horrible societal norms, that no longer serve you or your family or work environment.
