In what fucking world do we live where I am left $70k out of pocket for a plumbing job I did 6 months ago? I go to remove as much of the work as possible because I haven't been paid, and I'm told by this guy's lawyer that it's willful damage to the tune of $30k. Leaving me in $100k hole. Now, I must pay for repairs and am being charged with willful damage and trespassing. Like c’mon man i got kids to feed. Someone's calculator is broken, and their moral compass needs recalibrating. My calculator says $70k minus $30k means they still owe me $40k. This guy owes me and other family-owned small businesses millions. He's started a new company that's in full swing, building two multi-million-dollar houses for himself. If I didn't have literally a ton of other good things going on in my life right now, I'd be absolutely crushed. I've talked to people who have lost family members over this exact same scenario. I've talked to people who have lost their family home. Something is seriously wrong with the construction and business laws in NZ. But don't worry, I'm fixing it from the ground up with tech, integrity, blood, sweat, some tears, and good old Kiwi ingenuity. Please like, comment and share for reach.
