End of service life. Many of us are in industries where we deal with products, hardware or software with a EOSL "pattern". I.e. EOSL will be declared at some point in its operating lifespan. Many of us will also know that, with proper maintenance & oversight, hardware & software can continue to perform as they should, without a hitch all the way til EOSL and indeed, beyond that. E.g. we have heard of aeroplanes, locomotives, cars et al that have remained in service well beyond 40 years. I have personally seen IT equipment continue to remain in service beyond EOSL. IMHO, swapping out the EOSL equipment with a new one is definitely a good (best?) option, if one can afford it. But it should not detract from the need to continue to put in 110% effort to maintain older kit. Agree? https://lnkd.in/gPykMp2E
