Justin Jackson: So I just saw this tweet from Aaron Francis about how he's building a transcription system with Laravel to transcribe basically episodes of podcasts he's guested on. And, it reminded me of something I've been doing inside of Transistor. So if you have a Transistor account, this is something you can do for episodes you might guest on and you want the transcript. Just go into your Transistor account And I've created a new podcast. You can create unlimited podcasts and Transistor. So I just have gone in, added a new show and, created it from scratch. But then what I've done is in settings, I go to the RSS feed settings and I just disabled the RSS feed entirely. This is for if you don't want the feed to be discoverable, which in my case is true. I just wanna use Transistor's AI transcription engine. Then I'm going to go into episodes. I'm going to, in this case, here's the episode title. So I'll just copy that in there. And I'm just going to grab that Aaron Francis episode. I already downloaded it. K. I'm gonna save this. I you don't even need to publish it. You can just save it as a draft. Head over to the transcription option here. And if you've paid for the add on, you'll be able to transcribe it with AI. So you click that button like Aaron. Aaron's using Deepgram and that's the engine that Transistor's using here as well. All right. So it should transcribe in just a matter of minutes. And we have a built in way to, identify speakers. And so in this case, I better put on my headphones here. This is probably James. James: Hello. And welcome back to the make lemonade podcast. Justin Jackson: All right. So that's James. I'm gonna add his name in there and then see who this is here. JR: I did. Good to see you guys. Okay. Justin Jackson: That's Jr. And then Aaron: Yeah. It sounds really good. We Justin Jackson: Okay. Yeah. So that's Aaron. So you can identify the the speakers and save the changes. And then this has done a pretty good job right out of the gate of transcribing this accurately, but you can also, I might wanna move this line up. I might wanna edit, make some edits. For example, got Aaron's name wrong here. Just fix those. And then the cool thing is you can view these as VTT files, SRT files, JSON text, or HTML. So if you wanted to just grab these and bring them into your website like that, or if you wanted to grab the text files or, you know, maybe you're Aaron and you've got some chops and you wanna just view the JSON file, you can do that and easily use these for your, these transcripts for your website, for, you know, whatever you want. I've actually been using this system for transcribing YouTube videos before I upload them. So I'll use transistor to generate the transcript, apply speaker labels, and then I'll upload that transcript to YouTube. So, yeah, just, a little tip. If you already have a Transistor account and you, are paying for AI transcription, just use this to generate transcripts for really any audio that you have. And And you can do that by creating a new show on transistor that doesn't have an RSS feed. Isn't going to get submitted anywhere. Won't be discoverable.
