What was it like to be a passenger on Flight 1549 and crash land on the Hudson River? Chapter 12 of Superhabits: The Universal System for a Successful Life is about practical wisdom, the superhabit for making wise decisions. It tells the story of the moment-by-moment decisions that the pilot of Flight 1549, Captain Sullengberger, had to make correctly in the scant 3-1/2 minutes between the impact with a flock of birds that knocked out both of the plane's engines, to land the plane safely and save the lives of everyone on board. The chapter draws from many good sources, including the lengthy official accident report and also Captain Sullenberger's autobiography, but we did not have the benefit of speaking to anyone who was actually on the flight. Until now. Josh Peltz was a passenger on Flight 1549 that day. We met, interestingly enough, on LinkedIn. He read chapter 12 of Superhabits, and today we spoke about his experience on the flight, and the long term impact it has had on him. After countless hours of digging into the secondary sources while doing research for the book, it was thrilling to speak to someone who was actually there. #habits #superhabits #practicalwisdom #prudence
